Here is the thread to my "build". Page 2 is where the 928 information starts.
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...-v3-setup.html
Long story short, the SCi-trim volute's opening is too big for 928's impeller. Because you can't get the clearance tight enough, air will actually walk over the impeller blades causing you to lose efficiency.

Just read the entire thread, good info, I have been leaning toward just saying F' it and getting a T-Trim off the bat, and upgrading the kit to accommodate the bigger blower. I like the idea of one like you have with the 928 for some reason, I guess I like the idea of an upgraded higher RPM blower in a smaller package that can run like a T Trim. Either way, I am pumped to even get a base tuner kit installed on my car and move up from there.
I actually think that a supercharger would help my low rpm's, my cams kinda make 1500-2500 rpm's kinda suck, and I think that with alittle push to get through them they will behave better

Classy: I also asked 928m a question in regards to the compatibility of their impeller with the Vortech S, SC and SCi volute.
This was their response: [928M response]
Our impeller will make about 15% more boost when installed in a S-trim supercharger, and about 5% more boost when installed in a SC supercharger.
Threads: How's your project coming along? Do you know what 928 motorsports had to do in order to get the 928m impeller to fit your Vortech S volute? I am searching for one myself.

neither flow more than a T-trim and so far i haven't seen anyone with numbers showing the flow of 928 impeller verses a full t-trim blower. T trim has larger impeller as well as housing so it has the size advantage but again, i've not seen flow numbers compared.
About the stage 1, in truth, with meth i can't honestly say you will "need" a stage 1. The stage zero is always upgradeable so choose what you wish. The new fuel rails with dampers on them are amazing though. It's hit or miss whether or not your car will suffer from removing the oem dampers.

I just replaced one of my fuel dampers today, and the car now drives as smooth as butter. Should be installing the wastegate and intercooler in the next few days. Hopefully, I can get it to the dyno next week.

928 just needed to shim the impeller for my S-trim volute appropriately.

Classy if you do it right and "set" a limit you can run 450-500 all day without meth. I made 557 without meth but let me tell you, there will be no 100 degree days with that set up.
that set up had these parts MISSING that were not allowing cooler temps. (cooler temps no need for meth)
no oil cooler
maxed out 700hp FMIC
factory exhaust manifolds (sold headers because I figure the lower 8.8 compression would lose HP and boost) boy was I wrong!
fuel return
larger than 255 FP
larger injectors
after market MAF sensor
now im sure binder has more direct experience running his car at or near this level. Honestly I didnt, the tuner said not 100% safe, so I babied it for a few weeks until I purchased the above parts, to include meth. I went meth because 600 on a vortech hasnt been done, so why not make it 650 for bragging rights?
lol
but I am certain that my set up once I raised the rpms was about 480 or so, with no meth that I did run all summer long, but I was out of fuel with 600cc injectors...maxing out at 7400ish.
so once we added stage 0, 850cc, DW fuel pump, new MAF, the sky was the limit...22.5psi then cause us to run into heat issues. I could of backed off (BUT WHO IN THE HELL DOES THAT?)
so
larger FMIC
2nd Bypass valve
Meth
highspeed bearings
oil cooler
long tube headers
So if you get all the BIGGER THAN LIFE components upfront you can run 480-500rwhp without meth IMO. I just got greddy and had to have my 7500 rpms....
that 500 rpms cost me about 2K, but yeilded over 170 RWHP
think about it. spend the 2K upfront to avoid meth, I think I was at 16psi at that point
tomato/toma'tto
Also guys and gals, the 928 set up above, he is running factor CATS that is giving him additional boost/HP!

So, are you saying I should go for a T-Trim off the bat? I made a list of parts needed for the set up I want to run, here is it
-Vortech Tuner kit (something compatible with the 928 upgrades, or a T-Trim)
-CJM Stage 1 Fuel system
-DW 850 CC injectors
-Aeromotive 340LPH FP
-Treadstone Intercooler TR12 12.5x22x3.5
And you are saying that on 11:1 I can run 500hp all day without meth?
Also, I will have cooling upgrades and diff work done BEFORE I get the supercharger
On a side note, stick with 3.5 FD or run 4.08 for fun until I can afford the supercharger

so to save tuning time get as much as you can and do big Stage upgrades.
Stage 2 first, then Stage 3. LOL
