I have the V2 SQ trim and I asked Carl at 928 if his impeller will fit it? his answer was , MAYBE. He says if it's an earlier model , it might fit..He would need the blower to answer the question...If no fit, pay only shipping..

I believe your answer is partially correct. The impeller is trim specific. It was designed to fit a S-Trim volute. V2 and V3's, amongst other blowers, come/came in S-Trims.
So to answer the original question, the 928M impeller will work with a V2 blower, if and only if it has a S-Trim volute.
See my answer above.

I think Vortech has discontinued the S/SC trim for the V3, so you probably can't get the S or Sc trim brand new...you may be able to call Vortech and see if they will sell you an old S or Sc trim volute, I believe someone here tried it and managed to get their hands on a S trim volute.

Interesting...
FWIW, the 928M was first advertised for both S and SC trim blowers. However, the site currently only says S trim. There's a possibility that the S and Sc trim volutes are identical, if not really close, to spec.
Also FWIW, I had the 928M installed on my SCi trim volute. The impeller fit and made 14psi. I sent the blower to 928M, and I was told I had the improper trim. I then switched to a S trim volute and produced 18psi.
Hard to argue with facts!![thumbup](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif)
Correct. I was the guy who actually got one from Vortech. The nice gentleman at Vortech had a old S trim volute that was on the shelve for 3 years. He wouldn't sell me the volute without sending them my blower however.
It's going to be hard to find a S trim volute from Vortech since they are discontinued. I would recommend calling Vortech and maybe ask if they can hold one on the side for you if one comes in for an upgrade. Apparently, they ship the old parts off to scrap. Else, you might want to search mustang forums, as some of the kits have identical volute styles.

FWIW the 928 impeller was designed around an SC trim blower. The Sc and S are identical but the SC has the tips of the impeller trimmed to reduce tip velocity.
The increase in boost that was seen may have coincidental due to a volume being tighter than the last due to machining tolerances.

Aren't you the guy who's father-in-law is Carl? I could have sworn a member on here made that comment. If so, I trust you're info especially if it came from the source. lol

Interesting... I'm curious to know why it's no longer being advertised for the SC trim on the website. I'm sure putting that back up would attract more business and cause less confusion, but
.

The reason I know it fits an SC trim for a fact is because it was my SC blower that was sent out East to be reverse engineered for a couple of months. I also did the initial testing with the same blower.

People have seen even better results then me but the above information was the initial testing.
For good measure here is a video of why my 928 Vortech is no more though....
