Default 3.3 FD installed

I highly recommend this to anyone who is on the fence. I am one of the weaker FI guys with around 400 whp on a dyno jet, but none the less with this mod traction is readily available and since there is a local 1/8th mile strip up here, I can get done it without having to switch to 4th. I don't know if my trap speeds will be affected, but I am going to give it a shot this next Friday.

I like a few others have now lost my Cruise Control, but all in all well worth it. Top speeds for me have increased to 2nd 69 mph, 3rd 97 mph, 4th 128 mph (only did it once, may be 1-2 mph higher).

I still break traction pretty hard in 1st, 2nd chirps pretty hard, and 3rd chirps slightly. However, it was 93-96 yesterday.

I haven't read where I would need any retuning, but I did notice that in second and third that my car was spiking to a little more than 9 psi. I have set the boost at 7 psi. When I had someone watch my boost gauge, it didn't show any spike, but my greddy profec b showed high boost of 8.7?

Well worth it, but you should still have cruise if you try it in 5th which will be higher rpms than cruising in 6th but close to what 6th was before so no loss in gas milage.

Why would you loose cruise control?

Just think what a 3.9 rear would do ! I have a AT5 and had on the 3.5 rear . I couldnt even go 1/3 throttle in 2nd gear with out lighting up the tires and having the back end wanting to come around . I went back to the 3.3 . The 3.9 that a few people have with over 450whp...1st , 2nd , and most or 3rd wouldnt be usable

Will do. I am hoping for a better time, only problem is that I don't have a helmet and they will not let me run but once, lol. Last time I borrowed a friends.

I should be able to work on my 60 foot times and maybe see a little higher traps.

I have never had a solid run down the track, lack of traction (weaksauce 275 potenzas). But to date a 8.328 at 90.0 mph. I had to let completly off of 2nd I was spinning so hard. When I got my helmet the next run I feathered until third and hammered and went sideways (had to let off again), but went 8.438 at 87.67 mph.

I wish someone local would let a friend use his DR's!!!

I installed the 3.3 on my car when I was running 400-450 and thought the car felt sluggish with it. 6th gear became strictly a cruising gear as a result.

IMHO, the 3.3 is perfect for those at ~ 500 whp or more. At 500, every gear becomes a power gear. and you find yourself shifting considerably less. It does make the car much more streetable as you can actually cruise in a parking lot at 5-10 mph without the bucking the 3.5 caused in first gear

I just went back to the 3.3 on my AT5 . It sure is nicer to drive now . But I also put on a bigger pulley on the blower so I dont get that instant 4 -5psi and I cant do a standing burn [ didnt try that hard ] It was real easy with the 3.5 and even 2nd gear was useless with more than 1/3 throttle .But now 2nd gear is mostly all traction .
