Default turbo and A/C? Hot Air

Well today I found out that My A/C is not working, Its only blowing hot air. I’m almost sure this has something to do with the turbo set up but not completely sure. Has this happen to anyone with the Twin turbo set greddy, aps, Jwt? If so what did you do to fix it. This is the number one thing I cannot deal with. I’m a black Guy in a car with black interior and man it gets hot. If anyone can steer me in the direction on what should I start looking for to access the problem. If I cannot figure this out I will have to take it in the dealer were my warranty of the car I’m sure would be gone. Lol

Havent seen that issue with the TT setups up. I would put a sniffer on it, or get the UV light and glasses on and see where its coming from.

hahah.. that's definitely sig worthy.

I'd suggest doing what sharif said, or get some UV reactive r134a and a black light to look for it. They sell kits to do this at discount auto.

Get a white car?

Is this the first time you used your a/c since the install? You might just be out of freon.

Yep, find out if the shop discharged and didn't fill it back in. Also, check some simple things like your AC lines. It's possible something is loose.

I dont think that is the problem because like I said before it worked for a almost a year and the other day was the first time it didnt work. I will check that though. I sure hope this is the problem, cause I was so pist the other day I started looking at M3's and was thinking about taking off the kit and selling the car and just getting a M3, some volks, and calling it a day. On the way home from my girls, brothers house I ran into an M3 and he kept looking over then punched it, so I let loose and passed him up. After that I thought to my self Fu*K a M3 I love my Z.

After 2+ years with the Greddy TT I lost my AC, it was the AC line, looks like the rubber got brittle from the heat, it runs above the manifolds, and finally got a hole in it. This time I wrapped the hell out of the line with everyting I could find.

Hmm... appears it's not only an issue with Turbonetics kits.

Really, the stock AC lines suck. They're half-thickness rubber lines that are really weak. I took mine to an AC shop when I got my custom one made and they used fullthickness lines that were basically twice as thick.

DEI makes some really nice shielding stuff too. Check out my "water" thread and see what I did to make an uber AC line.

Well yes and no, mine took 2+ years and 20k+ miles before it went, also part of it is my fault as I failed to wrap it the first time

True. I'm just saying that it's a possibility on any setup. It just takes a lot more wear and tear on some kits than others. The turbonetics kit takes a LOT of work to keep from bursting it, but it's entirely possible to keep it shielded properly.

Heat is the enemy.
