Very similar bushing issue and smell here...Replaced it 2X. I assumed it was accumulate burnoff oil leaking out.... I have a new aps oil pan on order.-I guess just trial and errror till I fix it.

Even if your oil pan is leaking somewhat, it wouldn't cause an issue coming out of the exhaust. If you have oil coming out of the exhaust, it might be your turbos. Also, check the intercooler piping and see if there's any oil in there. You could be getting oil on the MAF which might cause starting issues or the car not running well.

Im a little confused with "oil pan bushings" The lower pan is sealed with RTV as is upper which also has 2 O-rings and 2 seals, front and back. Doesnt matter cuz it would have nothing to do with smoke comeing OUT of the exhaust.
Turbo could be bad, But FIRST, do a Comp. test, leakdown test and plug reading. That will rule out a broken ring or land. If tests are good, go Up, and Down stream of the turbos to narrow it down farther.

First things first to eliminate them. Cylinders first, turbos second. Plus.... If nothing else you will know how your top end is holding up

I agree with what to do, just not the order of doing it. IMO it is better to check the easiest things first. Doing a compression test on the VQ is quite timely due to all the crap in the way of getting to the plugs.

That is true and I see your point. I do it because I want to know the condition of the Heart and Lungs before I check the Limbs, so to speak. And, Im seeing more and more broken rings also lately

Thanks for the info....hopefully not the turbos..everything else looks fine. - runs perfectly ..after a series of hard pulls I get an occasional stall when coming to a stop. maybe one of the return lines is pooling up and not cut to length.

Stock gauges are not the most reliable. You may just want to replace the sensor and go from there.

Dont trust the factory gauge...trust your aftermarket gauge. Now, what the heck are oil pan bushings???? No such thing.

Based on your original description, do a compression check, and examine the spark plugs for starters.

It's possible you have faulty used parts from VRT.
