Sooo.... his tranny IS safe? Recommended tranny cooler? Maybe a VB and/or TC upgrade?

I already have the built motor... but now I worry about my tranny...? (sig = 5AT)

I know for a fact that if I go with a well tuned kit (whether it's a Greddy TT or the STS rear-mount) my tranny will be my weak point... or is that NOT a fact...?

Yeah but, how long will the AWD tranny hold up is my question

I'll PROBABLY get the VB, TC, and cooler... but not immediately. I'm also torn between STS and Greddy TT... didn't intend on stealing thread at all Mr. OP, sorry

That actually is the subject, how will the tranny hold up? Nobody's given a real solid answer. At 350-400 whp numbers, don't you risk the auto trans?

The 5AT is speced by manufacture for use on engines with a MAXIMUM of 333 lb/ft [at tranny shaft input] in normal average conditions* for 100,000 shift cycles.

* oem torque control by ignition advance reduction prior to and during each shift with a specific ramp up of advance after the shift occurs.

good stuff tech...

larry, i guess that ride on the ST setup was more than enough to get you started on going FI huh? LoL anyway, haven't seen anyone from all the TN ST cars that we've done (approx 12-15 i think) have any problems with transmission. there are 3 5AT cars that has had no problems whatsover, after being FI for almost 1.5-2 years! we'll talk more over the weekend.

I know someone that has done the Greddy and had no issues tranny wise, but they then did the VRT fulll treatment (upgrades and all) and had to toss the tranny. If I recall just about 500tq is the breaking point. But do not quote me on that.
