Question TN with cams and stock engine?

Does anybody have any dyno graphs of a stock TN kit on stock block with aftermarket cams? Just curious as to what the cams would do to the normal power curve...

Thanks

I don't think so. I'd assume it would move peak power later but I'm not sure of the degree to which the top end would be effected.

I searched and only found one thread asking the same question, with one reply lol. And the reply didn't help.

You could be the first. Then we all could reply with certainty.

Depends on the cams, but more high end power, where all the rest of the TN kits power is.

Actually this kit is known for having great midrange power and torque, but tapering off on the top end. I'm not sure how much cams would help due to some of the hot side piping restrictions. I'm sure it would help to a degree, but we don't know until we try right?

Oh, and my car will be running JWT C2's but will also be built with some custom piping. We'll see how they work out.

I've driven about 3 of them on the stock motor, and nothing seems to happen until 4k. Kind of like my evo, but there should be a way to get the for more low and mid range power. When I installed cams on my evo they helped my spool a lot in the low and helped all the way across the powerband.

I'd imagine running an open wastegate dump would improve that some, right?

You must have had some leaks somewhere because all of the properly installed (non-exhaust-leaking) turbonetics Z's and G's I have seen have hit a full 8-9psi around 3200-3500rpms.

That's what I'm hoping for.

I think he was referring to the downpipe. It's definitely lacking. But other than that and some other minor things, I never had a problem with the kit. You are going to love it.

Yes, to a point... We looked even before that on the up pipe that comes with the kit. I think there's a lot of top end power to be made there.

Actually I believe the downpipe is the lesser of piping issues.

Yes I have to be honest I have yet to see a Turbonetics kit running a set of cams on a stock motor. Should be VERY interesting...
