Default mahle pistons anyone?

Got a couple people telling me to look into mahle pistons. Doesn't seem like anyone has discussed or used them for the VQ.

This is the only place I am have found them online for ordering

Anyone have any thoughts?

I've never heard anyone discuss them. Be prepared for pretty much everyone to tell you to go with Arias ED though

Here, I'll be the first: Go with Arias ED, no failures to date!

It is cool that you're thinking outside the box, but when it comes to engine internals, I don't want to be the guinea pig.

ps,
might wanna look into the ones Jeremy at PF are coming out with.

I've always been curious why some shops are so adamant about one design and another shop swears by a different brand for the same application. Mahle makes good pistons, and I have used and love JE pistons, but these two brands are never used by the shops here. Arias is just fine as well and I know they have a good history with the builders here, but I alwats wonder why no one tries more brands when they are also very good. Like stocking anmd using both Arias and JE, if the customer has a preference then it's there to pick from.

I looked into those titan pistons as well.

Just exploring my options. I know my subie buddies run the mahle pistons and I have had a few others throw the name out there

On the original build it was between arias and CP, they had the arias instock so I went with those -

I chose CP based on their insane track proven record. VERY stong pistons / rings. Plus, you don't have to pay a fortune for "custom" pistons... Just my

Well it seems different shops set up deals with different piston makers so they will say that piston is better . They get a better price for them and can make a better profit . Some shops say they dont like Arias and to buy CP pistons and vice versa

Mahle is Cosworth...their pistons are nearly identical to the Cosworth forged pistons for the VQ35. Personally, I would never put a high silicon forged piston in the VQ35 that plans to see more than 13psi-15psi MAX(twin turbo setup).

Interesting. I have also been told that JE makes the Cosworth pistons, but I don't know if they were a Cosworth distributor like you. Any experience with JE in the VQ, Sharif?

Havent used the JE in the VQ35. Honestly, I dont think brands matter as much, as the material used, and the structure of the piston. GTM has a Wiseco ED piston that has a very simliar design to the Arias ED...and I would have no reservations, about using that piston.
