debating : Utec Vs. E-manage
Won't they both do about the same performance wise. I know I want to buy a greddy kit... but I don't think the e-manage can do what the Utec can. Anyone actually running a greddy kit with a utec? Anyone even use the e-manage for any reason other than that it came with the kit?

Im sure the search ***** will get on ya in a min :P
The UTEC can act as a true standalone at load. The Emanage cannot.
End of story (for the sub $1k price range).
The emanage has some nice features, but will always be subject to the stock ECU changing the tune. You cannot rely on it for this reason.
Get the UTEC.

It sounds like you a referring to the e-Manage "Blue" If so, do not use that EMS since it is inadequate for our cars and you will more than likely blow your engine. If you a referring to the e-Manage Ultimate it is a good unit for the money but the UTec will be better as far as timing control under load goes, the EU will be more consistent.

I hate to steal this thread, but I am going to slide my own question in here. Has anyone tried Unichip? (I think that is the company). I was at TDPerformance today and he suggested them. He was not familiar with the UTec, but that was just because he said he has never had a call for it. He said he has always had good luck with Unichip and is a piggieback so you don't lose some of the functions your stock computer has such as cold starts etc... Any input on this? Or will the Utec do the same.

How does the FCON i.S. compare against the EU/UTEC for F/I applications?
And how much cheaper is the "iS" versus the vpro?
How soon are you looking? The Haltech platinum pnp standalone will be on the market very soon and will be more affordable than the HKS and offer more functionality such as variable cam control and an unlocked user interface!

Is this the same as the e11v2 unit on the Haltech website? Does the stock ECU still control some aspects (DBW, amenities, TCM on the 5AT, etc?)
thanks!
