Technically you can if you have aftermarket NA parts but msot cops 'round here don't bother the big bad domestics.

I like this quote, I do like the idea of having a monster that no one would be able to know untill its to late, However, a Zo6 with Borla and cams/headers is one of the best sounds I have ever heard, a v-8 is something that is pure muscle car sound that I love. I guess its tough because the Z is still a sexier car imo. Well the Z guys are pretty insightful on future plans, who knows but I do like the fact that the Z would be paid off instead of payements again. Twin turbo-z, now that might be pure heaven, only if the engine blows Im ****ed.

Great question. I have a NA 2004 Z with pretty much everything done to it you can do without adding TT and have pondered this same question alot recently. Thinking out loud to do the TT right in the Z its going to be atleast $10,000 and thats just the basics. If you add internals which most recommend cause you will blow the stock motor when you raise the PSI (who can stay conservative?) your now adding another $5,000-$10,000 plus labor. So lets just say between $15,000-$20,000 with all the toys (TT, Internals, CPU, and Labor). My Z is paid off so temtping cause then I'm in the 400-600 HP range. But now I'm in the hole for the $30,000 the car cost, $15,000 in NA mods, and another minimun $10,000-$20,000 to go TT. Thats $55,000-$65,000 depending what route you take. I can buy a used Z06 in the $40,000 range or a nice BMW M class for that money.

My suggestive answer to this very good question is keep the Z and save the cash for bigger and better things to come like owning a house (if you dont already). I already have couple properties so getting TT is very temtping for me. Or trade or sell the Z and get a fast car with warranty that will hold alot more value then the TT Z. But then expect to pay 3x more for insurance (i.e. corvette, viper, porsche) then what you pay for your Z. You will be lucky to get $30,000 for a TT used Z unless its an absolute monster clean ride so you will defiantely have to consider keeping the car for atlest 5 years to get your moneys worth. I think getting TT is an option I will take seriously.

boost is EXTREMELY addicting but only go F/I if you plan on keeping the Z for a while b/c that will be an investment that will not turn around. the new Z06 is the way to go if you have that kind of money

The new Z06 is by far the best performing car for the money ever built and you get a lot more horsepower modding a V-8 as opposed to a V-6.
Vette any day of the week for the rest of my life.

The cost of TT a 350z is not the worse part. To me, it's the cost of maintaining a non-factory tt car and the down time. Worse yet, in california the tt baby can be impound by the cop anytime. I've seen some highly modded car sit at the impound yard.

Lookwise, a tt-350z or tt-g35 looks better

I was considering doing the same thing so I got an on-line insurance quote from Allstate and my premiums jumped from $620 every 6 months(2003 350z) to $3260 every 6 months(2007 ZO6). OUCH!!!
Needless to say I am now buying support mods for the Z and plan to go FI in september. However if you have the extra money to throw at the insurance company I think would be very happy with what the ZO6 has to offer.

Right on, I'd go with the Vette Z06, definitely a C5 though. If you get a C6, go for the hardtop coupe and install a sleeper rear turbo kit!

(Edit) In reference to the insurance guys, make sure they know it's a second recreational vehicle that sees no more than 7000 miles of drive time a year. Maybe they'll bite?

Twin Turbo 350Z: Fast Sports Car

C6 Z06: Faster Supercar

If money weren't an issue for me, it would be no questions asked: C6 Z06.

If you REALLY have the money, get a C6 Z06 and do full NA bolt-ons

As much as I like the 350Z, it just can't be compared to a supercar/track car like the C6 Z06... even if the 350Z was a built TT monster.

Goodluck with your decision!

Get the Z06 and just leave it stock. Aftermarket car industry is just to full of crooks. When you find people that arnt they are so busy its hard to get you worked in.

Bought my Z on fleabay with a shiatload of miles and a built engine from a member. I've since bought most of the mods and getting ready to do a rebuild. Just an idea

SGP Built Engine
TT Kit
Exhaust / RFS / Other Performance Mods

i was thinking about turboing my Z but i think buying a house is smarter before i go dumping all that cash into a car that builds no equity. But if you have the money turbo the Z.

When you mod a car it never drives like oem! There are headaches everywhere you look and you are always adusting things (if your **** like me). For the price I paid to get everything done to my car I could have paid off a new Z06. I love my Z to death but would rather have a ZO6 IMO.

I thought about this same question and would have liked to get a corvette, BUT i knew i would still be in the same boat w/ the corvette as i would w/ the Z (that being constantly modding it). I already have the TT kit so i figured i might as well just keep the car and get the kit installed. Plus i think the Z is superior over the corvette in regards to the interior and exterior
