Rick told me that the current turbo should be good for up to 500 crank hp which should be exactly 400 to the wheels with a 20% loss on an auto. not sure what awd loss is

I have yet to hear back how much Rick's willing to drop off the price on the kit with no intercooler. From one of their sales reps (Chris, South East), their crap intercooler ~$799... so if Rick's willing to drop 400 off the price of the kit to include no IC I'd be happy.
when I spoke to Vernon he said that Chris is already putting a package for a Tuner Kit, maybe you can get that and see if there is a big difference.

Oh by the way, maybe next summer I will be putting a Water/Meth on this kit. I have heard so many good things about it and it also help clean your engine. My friend who has a stock Type R motor (much higher compression) with just Cams added and he's running Water/Meth tuned for 7-10lbs and it's over a year now and still running strong. I can barely keep up with him at 1st-2nd but catch up at 4th, but that is on a 90deg weather so his water/meth and Cry0 spray give him an advantage...

Edit:

I just bought my self a bumper (TopSecret) no replica for me now The only thing I dont like about Authentic Kit is Fiberglass break easily. oh well, but with my stock G35 bumper I’m really suffering especially when it is hot so I decided to do the bumper first, even with a pressure drop the power is still stable and doesn’t really suffer, plus Christmas is coming and I have to start saving money for gifts (to many family and friend )

Umm are you just throwing this number out there? What does that even mean? An ADDITIONAL 20% over the already 20% auto tranny losses?

If that's what you're saying, 40% is hardly feasible. Stock AWD FX35's rated from factory with the 280 HP VQ35DE have dyno'd anywhere from 200-230 awhp, depending on conditions... 91 vs 93 octane fuel, temp and humidity, type of dyno...

With that said, assuming the 280 HP @ the crank figure was accurate, a dyno of 200-225 awhp (interestingly enough, the HP number was almost dead on with the TQ in almost all cases) would yield 19.5-28.5% losses.

With all that said, I'd assume 25% AWD 5AT losses Annnd, I'd need ~533 HP @ the crank to put down 400 to the wheels. Using this rough math, the T04E60 would be at or above its recommended max power... there's ways around that of course in order to push higher numbers with less stress on the turbo, but that's why I just went with the 60-1...

Maybe I'm not doing the math right but 20% of 500=100 & 500-100=400

That sounds about right to me. Daniel have you got your y-pipe installed yet?

nah not yet I'm waiting till my next week when I'll have the car down for a week or so to get the SGP valve body upgrade. I'm gonna do tailpipes, vb upgrade, and y pipe at the same time. The y pipe looks really similar to the stock one though so I'm not sure how its gonna net any gains but i guess we'll see.

Im sure its less restrictive on airflow. I am waiting on my kit to arrive at Forged it shipped out last tuesday once it gets install we will see if the moeny I dropped on test pipes, y-pipe and mid-pipe makes a difference in the spool time or anything.

in most awd cars (evo, sti etc) the loss from the MANUAL awd system is approx. 20% stock evos and sti's typically loose 20% power through their drivetrains, and it remains around that area when modified as well. a safe way to gauge how much flywheel hp you would need for an auto awd car (yours) would be in the 24-25% drivetrain loss range.

I don't think it will hurt coz it is a Bar/Plate design. I was looking for a used TN (Spearco) untill I got Gurgen's.

A friend of mine made a suggestion...

Get as large of a core that will fit in your particular bumper and just have custom ends welded to it. That way you can purchase just the core with the largest possible dimensions of either bar+plate or tube+fin at a cheaper price, and at the same time have no fitment issues with custom end caps to hook directly up...

Lmao, funny you should ask:
Bell has a HUGE stock available for just about ANY size you want... (6" deep!!!)

HKS has a few 2.5" thick options

Don't exactly know who XS Engineering is... but they got a few...

I think I'll seriously look into Bell after taking some measurements of my lower grill... I know I can fit one wide as **** intercooler down in mine... just don't know how tall.

Wow... with the options available for Bell, I want to look into that. Anybody heard good words about Bell IC's? They must be doing well to have an impressive line-up like that... 6" deep might be too rich for my blood, I'll maybe look into the 4.5" deep 1'x2.5'
