I had also contacted STS about and 06 kit after reading through much of this forums. official status was 'WIP', but nothing at a final product stage.

the general consensus seems to be that very few, if any, manufacturers will invest in the R/D to produce an 06-07 kit when when a completely new redesign is right around the corner for the Z. it makes sense, but sucks at the same time for 'late' Z adopters.

Anybody tried to relocate their BCS in the Rear? I have heard that relocating the BCS in the Rear will help instead of having it in the engine bay.

Because we opted out to use the Utec BCS to control boost so Boost and Map is one switch away. No need to use a Manual BC.

Default No Boost!

Just hit 2000 miles on the kit, took her out the other night to find I'm barely hitting 1psi.

So I checked the WG lines and the BC lines (ones that I could get to). Everything seemed to be intact. I need to put her on a lift and check all the lines under the car going to the front. I'm hoping it is something that just came lose and nothing too bad.

Is there anything else I should be looking at (besides the WG & chitty BC that came w/ the kit)? I checked the air filter and it was pretty dirty. That wouldn’t be the problem, would it?

Check for exhaust leaks and check the wastegate for leaks as well. Mine came loose and I experienced the same thing.

check for exhaust leaks. You could have a cracked Test pipe or something, although if that were the case and it was bad enough to where you couldn't create any significant boost I'm sure you would be able to hear it.

I really need to put her on a lift and look under the car. Don't think it is an exhaust leak b/c I can hear the turbo spooling.

I just put on HFC and a Y-pipe about a month ago.

If you still hear a loud turbo spool, you have a leak on your intercooler/intake piping somewhere. Check all the silicon couplers. Also check all the vacuum lines between the manifold and bov.

Here's a page from my Blitz EBC instruction manual.

The recommendation is to place the solenoids within 1 meter of the turbo. As it is, our UTEC BCS is installed in the engine bay, which is certainly more than 1 meter away from our rear mounted turbo.

The wiring harness length may be too short to pull this off, but I am going to install the new solenoids for my Blitz EBC as far to the rear of the vehicle as possible.

I have to dig deeper into this. The BCS is tapped to the vacuum port on plenum and goes on to the wastegate. I can see that there might be a delay between the wastegate opening because of that long line. I see some spike around the 4th and 5th gear when I drag race.

Ahsmo/Daniel,
were did you guys place your BCS?

Mine is the engine bay. Honnesty, the tubing is so small I really doubt the distance is of any consequence.

Athen, are you using both ports on the wastegate? That may be a problem with the BCS.

I'm just using one port but I thought you only use both when you are using close loop? My lines are also routed different, there are a few bend on the lines and I also have some minor Oil leaking on my Turbo. STS said it is because of the way the oil return line was routed and I think Goosegoose had the same problem and re-routing it fixed the problem. I'll do them this weekend and if that doesn't fix it then I'll try re-locating the BCS or just get an EBC...

The spike is around 1 psi and only around 5000rpm-5300rpm and usually on hard shifting to 4th and 5th gear but it goes back to 8 psi past that. The spike happen only in a very small part of the RPM range so I'm not worried.
