Default Finally getting boosted have a few ?

So I finally convinced myself to fork out the cash and go with the Vortech SATIN SC full kit. Is there anything I should worry about or precautions I should take prior to the install? I am having a local shop here in Canoga park do the basic install with the ss box, but I was planning to take it to GTM in about a month to change to the 3.12 pulley and get a tune. The shop installing the kit is doing a before and after dyno and will be welding a bung for the o2 sensor so I can get it tuned in the future. The shop mainly works on American cars, but has done many 350z and g35. They were on the Vortech dealer locator and are not even 1 block away from my office. I ordered the kit yesterday and it should be here by the end of next week.

Is there anything I should tell him to do that you guys wished you told your installer. I opted not to get any gauges but am giving it a thought. I am looking for a very safe and reliable setup.

I will keep you guys posted with lots of pics =). The company information is below, they are right next door to superchargersonline.com

Thank you

Bashar

Install should be easy enough. Just make sure you have the correct gauges to verify it's functioning within safe levels. Once you take it to GTM they should have it running in peak form.

Good luck with the boost!

why go with the full kit if you're going for the 3.12 pulley. Save that extra money and buy better components. That way if you ever want to go to 2.87 pulley its a matter of switching pulleys and re-tune.

+1 on the A/F and boost gauge.

I think GTM has a new pulley solution - check the other vortec thread. Maybe just get the install done by GTM? All in one place is always better...

+1. I would take it to GTM for the install and tune. Always a believer of the same shop doing the install and tune....

There are a lot of vortech threads on the forum in the F/I section. Many problems and fixes are explained there. As well as the wonderful thread that is stickied written by Sentry. He knows the vortech kit as well as anyone...
