I have a buddy that just gave me a single RaJay turbo from rajay industries inc out of long beach, ca. I got some news on them and found out they built turbos for motorcycles and airplanes. I called turbonetics and they said that they haven't worked on those turbos in years! and that i'll probably have to do some customization to get the turbo to work. The overall look of the turbo looks just like that of any turbo today. It's pretty big too! Is there a good shop around the 818/805 that can help me out that might be able to see if it's worth it? Or should I just post it on ebay or something?
Wow, I hope you know how much it will cost you to get a shop to customize the piping and all other goodies that goes with the turbo. Just buy GREDDY or TN Turbo and save yourself some cash. G/L.
it's a lot more complicated than " will this turbo will work ". The Rajay line is a old line and they were around in the 70's and 80's. As posted you would spend more customizing a kit than just buying a kit. You have to consider manifolds , piping, brackets, engine management, fuel delivery, intercooler and such. The chances of that turbo working are slim and even still the Rajay line is old and getting that turbo rebuilt and or parts will be a headache. I would seriously reconsider even the thought of trying to make that work or even customizing a kit around that old Turbosaurus.

I went to a junk yard for fun and pulled out 3 turbos off cars, 1 from a huge turbo diesle truck, 1 from a older volvo, and one off a older supra. I was gonna maybe make a custom kit with the diesel turbo but i just ebayed all them lol. i got they for 50$ each.
