Default Had A/C for a day, upper line fried?

Just wondering if anyone replaced teh upperline AC line, and if so is it as hard as the lower line? Myself and a friend replaced the lower line last weekend, huge PIA, I had the AC recharged and it held for a day. I havent leak tested the upper one yet, Hopefully its not bad and sealant can be put on the line. Im gonna check it in the morning. Looks like the upper line might be managable just removing the charge pipe?

You're gonna have to remove the downpipe to get to the fitting on the ac compressor.

When I had a leak, it was the upper line and it had a very small one. It would hold a charge for about 12 hours and would taper off. I ended up using some UV reactive r134a and a UV pen light to find the leak.

Please don't turn this into a kit vs kit debate. This can be avoided by shielding and routing the lines carefully, as many people have successfully done.

If you installed that greddy TT kit and didn't make the proper install preperations you'd have issues too. I wouldn't blame the kit however, I'd blame you.

It wasn't meant to be that way. Just trying to lighten up with some funny thoughts.

We would have had it all done in a day but we had a hard time taking off a couple things that should not have been difficult at all, plus we did all this on jackstands with crappy tools the auto port had. I have better tools at my house, lol.

My upper A/C line got torched by being too close to the heat shield on my turbo manifold. After rolling without A/C for awhile I got a new line and had it heat wrapped like a mo fo. Everything is good now so you might wanna heat wrap those lines so you don't have to replace them later.

I sprayed it with the UV again and i didnt see anything on the upper line, i saw some specs of UV stuff down by the lower line, but I think they might have been from before. I also put a second coat of heat shield on the upper line. I sprayed the system with "r134a leak sealant" because there might be small pinhole somewhere. I am going to see if i can get it vacuumed out again, and then just let it sit like that for a week.

I was also planning on a write up for DIY AC line repair.
