That first post from R&T is pretty old. But I'd love for those numbers to be legit. Something tells me HKS is making some revisions. 50hp for 6k is an utter rip off.

The 50hp/60ft lbs is stated on the lastest GT-Supercharger Ad on the HKS USA web site. I think you can stop hoping its a typo at least for the Carb version.

If it's a 50hp increase at the wheels then it's not a 7lb boost. It would have to be somewhere around 3lbs.

Wait a minute. I just don't get it. HKS USA are saying that the kit is only going to make another 50 bhp and 60 lb/ft, but the same GT Supercharger is getting the old 287 engine from 271PS to 362PS, that's a 91PS increase. And the torque rockets from 346 Nm to 457 Nm. That's 111 Nm.
How then can the american equivalent be so much less? Something is not right.
I know Japanese have better fuel, but it's not magic fuel.

I believe that the old Rotrex Supercharger Kit had an increase of about 80 whp. Since it appears that HKS copied the Rotrex design, wouldn't it be safe to assume that they would use a similar sized compressor which would net similar performance?

I suppose you can't really say it's totally different, because at the end of the day, it's a turbine driven by planetary gears. Same as if you compared to turbos really, how hugely different are they going to be be? Not much.
So yes, the kit is different, but not hugely different.

I'm sure that the new GT supercharger is superior. However my point is that they both use planetary type traction systems and they both drive centrifugal compressors. They are not much different.

BTW -it's spelled Rotrex.

From what I've been told, what is holding back the sale of the complete GT supercharger kit is the pending carb approval. Ive been told, once that is complete, the kits will be up for sale. I also think the tuner kit (which obviously won't have carb approval) will not be sold before the complete kit is sold.

Have you seen this clip?:

Anyone know if the JDM version that is out now will fit our lhd cars?

If, so, why not order from Japan now?

I can order a lhd kit from a Japanese vendor but am concerned about whether a hks dealer here I the states would tune it (grey market status). What should I do guys? Are the fcons only tuneable by hks dealers?
