Cam recommendation for Vortech
Hey guys,
I think its time for me to step up to the plate and start upgrading my internals. I was wondering what some of the engine pros would recommend for a Vortech car that is not a daily driver. I am actually hoping that the car will have some serious lope at idle. Any ideas?

I believe he wanted a big lope in his idle . The Nismo and JWT [ from what I hear ] are basicly the same and will not give you a big lope . Idle is a little choppy but not what you are looking for . I dont think the GTM cams will be much different .
What is this car going to be used for ? Stock Vortech SC ....or custom setup ?

With the lagging nature of the Vortech, as agressive of a cam as you can handle would be best, IMO.

^+1 jwt does have alot to choose from then just the S series. They also have the c series which is more for racing than for the street, but require you to switch out you springs and retainers from what I understand.

I talked to jim wolf about it one day when i called them. One of the bigger cams he sells will make power all the way too 8500-9000rpms. Of course you either use it with like 15.1 compression or a turbo . He said it would work well with turbos, and i think they are the same price. I am not sure if they sell different springs than what is listed though. The next set of cams when i rob someone for money will be some big jwt cams and brian crower springs/retainers.
Does anyone know if the oilpump and waterpump would be ok too 9k rpms haha.

When cams are done right and the right ones for the particular aplication is selected, the cams should not only deal with the higher RPM's better (making more power), but even more importantly will minimize all that lag that is inharent with the Vortech and get you up ionto boost ALOT quicker. The goal here with cams would be to make better use of your boost/power and make more of it.
