Default Greddy EvoTT Exhaust=New tune??

i just bought one and i am currently running a Greddy TT kit with a single 3" all the way back. would i need a new tune going to this exhaust? i have a utec and the car is tuned and runs perfectly just wondering if this may lean the car out up top?

I went from the Borla TD to the Greddy Evo TT last week and I have an APS TT and UTEC and I see about a pound and a half more boost on spring pressure. The car will be fine as long as your UTEC's map is scaled right and you don't exceed the 100% load site. If you don't have a wideband I would get back on a dyno with a wideband before you do lots of WOT pulls.

Honestly, it wouldn't hurt to get a fresh tune (ok I'm lying, maybe ur wallet might hurt.) I personally would since I'm paranoid about my motor... better safe than sorry! =P

It all depends on what boost you are seeing with the new exhaust compared with the previous one and what that area in the Utec looks like, whether the tuner made it super rich, just extended the area that was tuned or left it alone and could be lean.

Do a couple of runs and check boost and air fuel, and if they are ok then you should not need a tune.

you need a retune for sure. i have seen major differences in boost levels, AFR, and knock levels, everything with a better exhaust.

minimum you will need to do is strap it down on the dyno and have it checked out.

dont risk your investments getting info from people who dont tune cars every day and/or witness these things on a daily basis...

i had a car with single 3 inch, just switching the exhaust to a free flowing true dual, the car made 45 whp at the same boost levels.

true I missed the 3" single part, going from single to dual and a big dual at that should definitely put you in higher boost and you should at least check the boost out and lower the setting on the controller, even if you reset the boost to match previous boost you will probably at least need retuning on the lower end as the boost will build sooner

like jeremy said get it returned..... better to have to may $300-$500 now than have to pay thousands of dollars later and have to fix your car or having to get a new motor....

dam i was really hoping not to have to have it tuned, i guess i'll throw it on a dyno to see what it looks like. hopefully someone locally can do those small adjustments instead of me traveling to cali or something, i just dont have that time off of work. Would you guys trust a good tuner shop to do those adjustments even if they dont tune Z's. i mean i dont need a full tune right just maybe some minor adjustments and any good tuner should be able to do that, right? ( the tuners i'm referring to are guys that are reputable with turbo and supercharged domestic cars)

The UTEC is REALLY easy to tune. Adjustments for a new exhaust to your map would be very minor. Just bring it to any decent tuner with the UTEC CD (so they have instructions on the details of the UTEC operation).

I had never tuned a car in my life before I got the UTEC and after 2 hours in my car with my friend who has A LOT of tuning experience I feel confident that I could tune my own car from scratch with it.

Bingo! They shouldn't have to mess with the timing and any good subie guy will know how to tune with a UTEC. The EJ20 is how I learned the UTEC.
