Default 2.62 on revup motor vortech?

Alright well since the vortech comes with the 3.12 pulley stock and is equal to the 3.33 on the non revup motors can I assume then that the 2.62 pulley on a revup vortech will be equal to the 2.87 on the non revups? Im running the stock 3.12 right now on mine and looking to upgrade for more power, and was just wondering if my assupmtions were right. Also does anyone know if I will need a fuel return system or could I be fine without using one. My fuel setup right now is a walbro 255lph pump and 650cc injectors tuned from a Utec. Am I better off just running a 2.87 on my revup or could I get away with the 2.62 on it? TIA

I would say get a RFS, and I will be going with a 2.62 on my revup also in the near future. I already have the return fuel and recommend it. Also get an oil cooler if you dont have one

ok so there has been a lot of talk about changing pulleys on the revups lately. I understand that you could achieve more boost by lowering the serp pulley (smaller diameter) or lowering the supercharger cog pulley (smaller tooth count).

Can anybody explain the pros and cons between changing one of the two different pulleys achieve more boost?

one pro I was thinking about for the SC pulley is you probably wouldn't have to get a new belt.

The 2.62 pulley is something that I am also looking into for my G. I have the RevUp with the 2.87 pulley. A return fuel system isn't something that is necessary but if you are looking for extra safety, it's good to have. I have 550cc injectors with a Walbro also and I am getting more than enough fuel. You can run the 2.87 with your set up and be fine.

IMPO you rev up guys have it made . Your blower cog pulley is big [ 32 tooth I think ] You have the option of going down 2 sizes and stay with the bigger serp pulley [ 3.12 ] . Seems to me it has a lot less chance of belt slipage and a better chance of higher boost .

i have a 34th cog pulley for sale to help increase boost and allow u to switch back to the 3.12 pulley. This will allow u to give u more boost and less chances of slippage. the 2.6X pulley will need to be milled and chances are uwill got a lot of slippage and make less hp.

So if I go to a 28T SC pulley do you think I will need a smaller belt? the current part num is 560-8MGT-20

Quite possibly so you will have to check what lengths are available to compensate for the smaller cog.

I agree that a 2.62 is going to be way to small for the size belt that the stock kit runs (width is to small and length is to long). I would be inclined to say belt slip will be a resault of such a small pulley.

Maybe this is a dumb question but with all the problems people have with wanting more boost short of making a custom supercharger kit like mine maybe someone should work on getting a company to make an overdrive crank pulley. I mean if people out there are really dieing to get more boost they could underdrive their alt to compensate but they would have the extra surface feet per minute on the crank pulley similar to what I did in order to run a larger SC pulley.

I know that unorthodox racing would do it if anyone wanted. If there was enough demand (technically one is enough demand but something like five people would work) they could definitly make a kit similar in cost to what their pulley set cost now plus some.
