Default Advice on my build sheet?

OK, here's my build sheet. We are beginning this process in the next couple of days, so I want to be sure I have the right build plan before we order all of the parts. My goal is 550WHP on 100 Octane (automatic transmission), but to use the MAP selector for a DD mode with between 350 and 400 WHP.

Please, anyone with experience in this arena, feel free to let me know if I'm missing anything from this plan. Anything you think is mis-guided, or unnecessary, or unwise?

-SGP Upgraded Long Block #1:
Block oil passages cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Crank balanced
Crank journals polished
New Main and Rod bearings w/*ceramic coating
CARRILLO Forged Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
CP Forged Pistons .020 over(8.5:1 or 11.5:1)
Heads oil passages cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported Exhaust and Intake runners
JWT Upgraded Cams
JWT HD Valve Springs
5 angle valve job
Valve Stem Heights set
Cold Clearance set
New Valve stem seals
HKS Metal Head Gaskets
New Nissan REVUP Oil Pump
New Nissan Cam seals
-SGP 3-Yr Warranty
-Greddy Twin Turbo
-RC Engineering 750CC Injectors
-AAM Stage 2 Fuel Return System
-Walbro 255 Fuel Pump
-HKS BOV
-60mm Aluminum Flange
-NGK Iridium 1 step colder plugs
-SGP Valve Body Upgrade (Auto tranny)
-Turbo XS UTEC
-Turbo XS Remote MAP selector
-Turbo XS Boost control Solenoid
-Turbo XS MAP sensor
-Greddy TT Exhaust (2.5")
-AAM Spec 2.5" Test Pipes
-3 Gauge Pod
-Innovate DB red wideband kit
-Defi-link meter BF (60mm Oil Pressure Gauge)
-Defi-link meter BF (60mm Boost Gauge)
-Defi-Link Control Unit II
-Greddy Catch Can
-2-1/16" Core Radiator
-Samco Hoses, Blue
-Pro-Torque Converters

Of course, I will also have the additional labor, tuning (4 MAPs), AT Flush, Break-in oil, oil change, and dynos.

Thanks. I'll take it that you don't see anything that we overlooked.

Anyone else? Please, people...I'm putting about 35k into my car and this whole TT and Built Engine route are new to me. Any advice at all on my build would be great.

nice set up....

why not go with the EVO TT 3" exhuast instead of the 2.5" and SGP's down pipe cat deletes?

my car is at SGP also... lol

might want to opt for a water/meth kit and perhaps haltech rather than utec. im shooting for the same power range w/o all the head work tho =/

I had looked at the larger exhaust as well. Does it make a significant improvement for the cost difference?

I hadn't looked at the Cat Deletes. Any problems running that instead of test pipes?

Thanks for the feedback. Keep us updated on your build and experience with SGP.

anything to reduce backpressure is a good thing. might wanna check out the AAM 3" TD. i love the sound of mines. i got the titanium tip one for 1500 shipped. im sure theyll give you a good deal ;-). just run test pipes. the only reason cats are there is for emissions. you wanna reduce back pressure. less resistance for the turbos to deal with. good luck with your build.

Is the Haltech a lot more than the UTEC? I seem to find quite a few people that are happy with the UTEC, but a few have had hiccups at lower RPM ranges and were going to change it out. Have you had problems with a UTEC?

Approximately what does it run to get a water/meth kit? I don't know anything about them at all.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I will get a quote on the AAM 3" TD tomorrow to consider in place of the 2.5" Greddy TT Exhaust. I will also see what the CAT delete costs. My car is an '06, so emissions won't be a bother for a few more years.

Thanks again.

haltech is almost double what utec cost. but from what i hear its worth the cost. utec is fine for your power range. i was looking into utec for my build but i might be opting to go with haltech insted. depends how i am doing with my financial situation. water/meth kits run around maybe 500-700? not 100% sure but with water/meth it reduces your intake temps and bumps up the octane rating on pump gas up to around 116 octane. you should really look into and research water/meth. its alot better than driving around trying to find pumps that pump out 100 octane. the good thing about it too is you can set it up to activate only at certain boost levels.

you'd get a better free flowing exhuast w/ larger pipes... lol..

and IMO cat deletes would be better since there would be less places where you can have an exhuast leak...

if you dont know what cat deletes/ down pipes are... they/re the pipes that bolt up to the exhuast side of the turbos and connect to your exhuast... which mean no need for test pipes...

as for my build its done.... SGP is putting some miles on the new motor at the moment and so they can do the final tune... as for my experience w/ SGP? hell i have nothing but good things to say about them.... they helped me out alot...

OK, so here's what has been recommended so far:
Larger Exhaust (3" AAM to replace 2.5" Greddy)
CAT deletes (remove test pipes from build)
water/meth w/setting for activation at high boost levels
Possibly Haltech instead of UTEC

The water/meth seems that it will pay off quickly for me, since the closest place is 100 octane at $7/gallon.

Larger exhaust will just depend on cost difference
Does the CAT delete option from Greddy cost anything extra? Any idea how much?
Still hearing both sides to the Haltech/UTEC discussion. Anyone else have feedback on whether it's worth the extra dough for the Haltech?

Thanks again to you guys for the advice. Keep the feedback coming!

you can get cat deletes from SGP... they make em...

as for the exhuast i think the Greddy EVO TT is cheaper than the AAM... the EVO TT is also a TD exhuast

I'd go with the ARP L19 head studs while you're at it. Small price for insurance against a potentially huge problem.

+1 Didn't see anything about head / main studs in your build list. L19's are almost mandatory these days IMO. Anyway, I'd also say opt for the Haltech while you're at it. Makes sense to tune the car with a solid EMS now rather than later...
