the mass air signal can work on alot of cars....just not boosted Z/Gs. About the only kits where it'll work using a mass air signal would be on those kits using an EMS like the Split Second box (stock vortech kits, stock JWT kits, etc).

Most guys are running the UTEC, FCON, Haltech, etc. these EMS aren't trying to trick the stock ecu by manipulating the MAF. They don't use the MAF AT ALL when under boost. The FCON and Haltech can completely eliminate the MAF all togehter.

That is why I asked about using rpm or an injector pulse width trigger.

We have a similar system from cooling mist, I think it is the Varicool system. Do you know if there is a 5v output on the system to trigger the Fcon secondary maps?

Julian,

Can you give more details on this? Can this work with Utec? STS Water/met kit does work with mimicking the injector so as rpmXload goes up so do the water/meth spray. PM me some pricing please.

With the UTEc you can do it a few ways. You can have the UTEC trigger a relay, triggering the system to spray. However you would need a secondary timing and fuel map.Or you can run it on a secondary map and switch to turn it on when your ready to use it. IMHO it would not be a bad idea for you..

I'll call you when I get the final details on the other kit and compare them then I'll decide which one. By they way STS retails for $499 (I know you don't want to hear that company again )

From AIS website
For engines that are fueled solely by methanol, such as race engines, it’s quite common to see ice form on the outside of the intake manifolds during operation. Methanol is able to cool down the intake air temperatures entering the cylinder head so well, that when used as the primary fuel on a forced induction engines, an intercooler is not needed no matter what the boost levels are. Most surprisingly, engines can also be ran without a radiator. This being a true testament to the cooling effects offered by methanol when.
Ice on manifold?

Yes, ice one the manifold. I've been envolved with many forms of drag racing. Alcohol N/A dragsters after a run on a cool day will form condensation on the outside of the intake which will freeze forming ice. This is due to running pure methanol. This is very common.

You may also find it interesting to know that you do not need to run a intercooler even with boost levels over 30 psi when running pure methanol.
