Wink *LOW boost Greddy TT 1/4 TIMES!*

Mods- please dont move this I posted this here because I know many FI owners dont visit the drag forums...

Gotta start by saying THANK YOU Dave & Juan at Function Tuned for helping me with some issues/axles last minute, without them I wouldnt have been able to run my car.

For those of you that didnt follow the other thread-I went out again with my car looking to see what I could do in LOW boost. My goals are 10.9999 with FULL interior, the only 10 sec 6MT pass we have seen is Jeremy and he was 400+lbs lighter, and IIRC was running more than 13psi to run 10's. Well I didnt hit my goal, but came damn close considering the conditions...

Track prep was ok-many didnt agree, air was humid. First pass I had the same problem as in my other runs (see vid in sig) result? A weaksauce 11.8 letting out of it BAD.

Second run, launched good and knew I HAD to stay in it. My car sways to the left under WOT with slicks/radials on it, and in 3rd gear I had to let out of it to keep the car from going into the other lane, then got back on it with a slightly early shift to 4th. Result 11.1 @ 126mph My camera guy moved the camera and my GF gasped as I swerved left, I thought I was gonna hit the cone in the median damn I rode that line!

I have NO doubts I can hit 10's with this set-up in low boost, full interior, all the $hit in the back, stock battery, 1/2 tank of gas etc. Most NA Z's had trouble hitting 100mph down the 1/4 last night, the track was slow yesterday with people 2-3mph down from normal. Great to have all my Z/G friends there as wintesses to the runs and conditions/track prep. Nice seeing you again LUIE!!

I'll be going back to a faster track in cooler weather soon, and post up the results....VIDEO BELOW.

Oh wow. Very nice run. I can't believe that you still picked up 32mph on the back half with the let-off at the top of 3rd.

I know man, the 3.3FD with this power and above is a perfect match for the 1/4 and the street IMO! Even with a 26" slick I could still leave it in 4th. I cant wait to run high boost on a cold night

Just to show you how "slow" the track was, my best 1/8 was 94mph last night, compare that to my HORRIBLE run in the video in my sig, I trapped 96mph on that first run letting off more! Its very rarely I go to the track and dont break anything, Im SUPER happy with everything. Anybody can run 10's with enough power, I want to do it with as little power and changes to the car (why I didnt run my front stockers I had brought with me) as possible...

Congrats Berto. awesome driving... I have no doubt you can get into 10's in low boost. I believe from now on you MUST invest in a roll cage!

Next time I go to the track, I'll run my stockers up front, cuz being narrower the car wont be so sensitive to steering inputs and hopefully I'll get a 100% clean run. Looking at the video I can def improve the launch also, 1.67 felt GREAT but I can go harder next time

BTW-thank you to coach and one350zfan and many others who helped me tremendously in that other thread providing suggestions on keeping the car straight!

I told you these cars can run 10's with less than 500 ponies (that 500 heartbreaker ponies).

Not to mention we (me in the car) slowly walked a ZX-10 with some mods earlier during the day.

Now it's my turn next week!

nice runs bro congrats and good luck on getting into the 10's on low boost. Seems like you should have no trouble accomplishing this with a clean run. Damn you were close to the center in that second run.

Good job Bert. I know you'll hit those goals at MIR, maybe even Cecil.

LOL at Dave. 23 seconds into the video I can clearly him say "That is ridiculous right there."

LOL Charles-Dave is a trip man I like hanging out with that guy

Thanks daniel-no doubt in my mind I'll do it....

BTW-this puts me at #3 on the Twin Turbo 1/4 registry behind 2 cars with no interiors, racing tranny's and nitrous!

Amazing run - scary to watch. At least you were sticking to the middle and not anywhere near the wall!

When you get the control tweaked to your liking, would love to hear what you think was causing the problems and how you ended up fixing it.

Congrats - can't wait for the first sub 500 whp 10 sec street Z.

Great job Berto. A little close to the line, but great job. Now go get a cage, so you dont get thrown off the track anymore.

I can tell you now what I think-one of the FL guys told me this. Basically you dont really want to ever mix bias play tires with radial tires-you get bad wobble, we know that. BUT-if your front radials are as wide or wider than you rear slicks, you get HYPER-sensitive steering inputs, and cant control it, your fronts act like skis, and the rear wants tocome around. Thats what happened to me on the 10.5" wide tires, they were only as wide as my fronts which are 255's. That wasnt a good combo lol. In all honesty for these speeds, my current 11.5"/255 front isnt either, I should look into skinnies with bias ply fronts, but it wont be as much of a "challenege" for me then. I'll only resort to running my stock 8" wide front as opposed to my current 9.5". Fine tuning my EDFC on the street with the slicks also helped. Def hard to control, but MUCH less scarier than last time. That 2nd run I dont think I blinked or took a breath it was over so fast!

Alberto, I wish you'd just bite the bullet and go all-out drag with this car. I'd like to see a 6MT in the low 10's some day, or even high 9's
