However, I also don't see the knowledge or comprehension here necessary to pull this off. Do you understand that 1200hp and street-driven do not go together, and it's not a matter of just learning how to drive? One would think that after driving 11s Mustangs and owning an NSX you would have some general automotive aptitude. And saying stuff like "whatever could be done to a supra can be done to a 350z, even better", pulls the BS flag a little bit higher up the pole.
he will need a sophisticated ECU to switch maps between the street and the track. If he goes to the right shop it can be done eg:Titan, Jotech, Vinny Ten Racing ,Xtreme race cars.

What's it like to drive a 900hp grocery getter, much less 1200hp? Is there a temptation to slide around every corner, or can you even help it? Is every 1/8" of the gas pedal like 100hp?

Good question...

When I run my car at 14psi (which is over 555 whp on my car) with the traction control off....it feels like rear wheel steering. With the Traction control on....you get whiplash when the VDC comes on.

I own a car (Not a G) with over 800whp....and that's the worst money I have ever spent on a car. It feels like I am driving in the middle of winter in Chicago on a icy road ! At the time I was modifying my other car....I was not educated about what 800+whp was.....the OP seems like he is heading in the same direction.

Off topic, but interested in seeing what this other car is...

ive beed doing my research, it looks like a 1200 street car is out of the question. so my build up will be a 1200hp/6 Speed track car with some street action. First I will be getting a cage from Vp racecars certtified to 8.50. Second i will be getting an engine built, I have not chosen a shop yet. I will be doing this build in careful steps. thank for everyones input.

Getting a cage may be second, but it won't be first. You need to buy a 350Z first. What does "some street action" mean? If you put it on the road in PA you will need to pass an annual safety inspection and emissions test - good luck with that. Really, how old are you?

Hell anybody can build one if you have enough money.....

due to disbeliefe I will tell you that there is a great shop called "Stop Wasting My Time" located in youfailatlife, MD. Try giving them a call at (800)EAT-****

ok i'm kidding.....but yeah expect an $80k build easy for 1200 hp...and also expect most shops to be skeptical so they may ask for most if not ALL the $ up front....you will need a lot of custom work and the only place I have seen actually make that mark, and it pains me to say this is Vinny Ten Racing.

They made 1600 and ran 6.63 but in a $400K tube chassis drag car. They also had an 8.8 street tire car. I believe Carl Stevens Jr. drags a 350Z as well.

progressive, gear (or speed) dependent boost is the ticket to usable power. How many of you can spin the tires in your overdrive gear? More boost there isn't gonna hurt.
