Ask the shops why...can't really answer for them. It's a piggy back engine management system to adjust fuel and timing, which is what you would need to tune the car. Do you have the Split Second box for the Vortech? or was it a tuner kit?

The emanage can't control the fuel pump for the kit IIRC.

That's the Split Second box.

The standard emanage blue is a waste of money. If you have the ultimate, then feel free to put it on. If not, just keep the SS box.

The split second box should be fine for tuning the car.

Cool thanks guys

Do you think that I can put this kit on myself I picked it up used and got the charger rebuilt by vortech, there was nothing wrong I just wanted it cleaned up. Everything looks great and its not missing anything, is it hard to do I have a few people that can help out.
It even has the harness to tap into instead of just the ECU wires and an oil pan spacer. Everything seems like it will be easy to do because its all still connected together.

Is it *hard* to install depends on your level of mechanical skill. That being said...I think anyone can install it with the given directions and enough time. An extra set of hands is always good to have.

Sorry "Hard" isnt the term that I wanted to use, I know connecting everything will be a breeze because half of it is already done I just need to tap into my fuel lines and add my spacer, mounting the bracket and the belts my take some time, but as far as tuning I hook up the box and is that it or do I have to do something else, will it function properly. I plan on getting a tune done but will I be able to drive it right away?

It will depend if the box has been tuned already since you say you got it all used. I would say to be safe, no WOT runs until you get it tuned. No telling what kind of tune was on there for someone else's car.

But as far as install everything looks straight forward, are there any special tools that I will need, and with the FMU is there any tuning that needs to be done?

The Split Second box controls fuel, timing, and the auxiliary fuel pump.
