Default Where to get Z engine for FI build

Has anyone got any suggestions where I can get a 2003/2004 motor for a FI build. I have checked out ebay and they are going for about US$2300. This to me is on the high side for a motor with this age and miles.

Or if any vendor has one for sale please PM me.

Any suggestions appreciated

Go to marketplace/private classified/engine and on the 1st page-4 up from the bottom there's one for sale.

I have kept an eye on the classifieds and the one for sale from memory is not not a stock block. Will contact the vendors above shortly to see what they can do for me. Just a bit concerned that they will not be forth coming in selling a stock long block when there income will mainly come from a build and not just a sale.

Thx for the suggestions. Got a web link for GRD?

You can also check with Jim at www.Turbo-toys.com That is where I bought my core exchange for my FI build. I just checked with him a week ago and he has a Z block in stock right now.
for other miscellaneous parts, But more importantly it is better to send Jim an E-mail. He is rather quick to respond and has excellent prices.

Just FYI, if you schedule ahead with a shop, they can usually arrange to build your stock block in a short period of time... That said, having a 2nd car in case problems arise is always advisable. Even if you build a 2nd block, you generally don't know there's issues till it's in the car, so, these days I don't know that providing a separate block saves that much time.

Don't know who will be building your engine, but if you decide to have us do the job we can supply you with a core (which we have in stock) for about the same price you would end up buying one for (or less)

Good luck!

Try and get in touch with Jeremy at Performance Factory( S/N AudibleMayhem). He is going to Australia in mid February with a couple built motors that they did for a customer in Australia. Might be able to work out something with him. If you want his phone # PM me if your serious and I'll let him know you're going to call him.
