UltimateRacing T3-super60 TT problem.
Hey fellows
well i'm having a wiered problem with this setup. i have been told that this setup could hold up to 600whp easily. i installed the kit, turned up the boost to 9.9 psi and the car made 427whp which is really perfect for the start. Then, i rised the boost to 12psi, still the car is making awesome power. sincethen, the car feels so slow and no change in power. i kicked the boost up to 20 psi and it made about 70 whp more. tried to play with the timing, but it doesn't seems timing issue. Also, i did a compression test and it wasn't the problem. Anyway, here is what i have:
Engine:
1. Ariase piston ED .20 8.5 compression.
2. Darton sleeve.
3. Pauter rod.
4. polished heads
5. HKS head gasket.
6. ARP 1/2" head and main studs.
7. crower valve.
8. Ti retainers.
9. JWT C2 cams w/springs and shims.
10. Ultimate racing T3-super60 TT w/ HKS 40mm wastegate.
11. Utec w/ 4bar map sensor and boost solenoid.
12. 3" downpipe, open dumps, and Greddy EVO TT exhauste.
13. CJM S2 fuel system.
14. walpro fuel pump
15. 750cc injectors.
my question are these turbos cabable of 600whp+, because they seems to me they're maxing at 500whp? here is the compressor map.

I'll post my numbers soon.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Can you post up dynos? Using peak torque to calculate VE at the point in the curve that peak HP is achieved, you can try to derive what hp you should be getting out of those turbos. One rule of thumb I have seen referenced several times is 10*flow rate for a crank hp guesstimate of what a turbo can produce at the flywheel. Looks like those turbos are pretty much near max at 600-625 crank hp (for a pair). With a 16% drive train loss (20% for automatics) - that puts you around 500 whp.

^ are you sure? The diagram doesn't show the actual choke line or what the efficiency islands represent... It looks like something between the 530bb and 700bb compressor maps - but again, the diagram is vague. Looks like the maximum boost supported for peak efficiency is at around 19 psi and there its only putting out about 25 lbs/min. 50 lbs/min for 2. A 3.54L engine (usual overbore) requires over 60lbs/min (exact figure depending on VE) at that boost level at around 7k rpms (or 30 lbs/min from each turbo). Looks like those turbos can manage that, but just barely (it's far to the right on that compressor map - but there are no efficiency #s so who knows how well it'll manage).
EDIT: I've never seen a Greddy 18g compressor map, so I don't know - if you've got one, would love to see it.

Nevermind, I thought it was a SFR racing kit and just saw its an ultimate racing. They technically should have enough for 600 and maybe something else is going on. More info from the OP would be appreciated.

Check the plenum!
Might be a leak.. I had this problem a while ago and found out the plenum was leaking. It showed full boost but power did not go up. After the fix, it was no issue.

well yea the car is running prefect without any problems. i checked everything and it seems to me now that these twins are good for only 500 to 530 at the wheels. also, i talk to some people about it and they told me they could support roughly 600whp, which i don't believe. do you guys agree on what i'm saying? also, is there anyone who's running like this setup?

the twin T3 can not hold the high boost like the TD05 18G
16 psi is max boost.
if i run 17psi th boost will fall to 15psi at redline damn i have to buy a new kit.
about the plenum, it not leaking.

The important thing is the curve is nice and smooth - looks like a good tune. It could just be a conservative tune... Maybe your high boost runs were heat soaked. It's hot there, right? Did you log air intake temps?

Sorry, about the hijack of the thread, but Ahmed here or “q8pianist” could really tell about the turbo kit since he has mine along with a twin carbon excedy clutch.

aalzuhair, i think this is not the right place for posting such a thread. if you have a problem with him, there are many ways for solving it. anyway, i wish the administrator delete this thread, since it is not being useful.
