Z going into limp mode
Z went into limp mode in the rain tonight. There was no cell but I did the ecu reset procedure and it went away but then when I drove a couple hours later it did it again. I did some research and common problems were the throttle body and the ss box. Is there any way the rain would have caused this?
Thanks in advance
Ps I'm vortech supercharged with plenum and 3.12 pulley

My car has been going into limp mode, but I belive it just my thottle body getting tierd. You can buy a redone throttle body at some nissan dealers for $150. Supercharged just bought one for his G not long ago, or ebay has them for $99. Easy fix IMO.

There might not be a CEL light on, but if you don't at least read the stored codes in the ECU (before resetting it), you won't have a clue as to what caused it... Cipher is a great tool for this kind of thing.
hmm, when my car went into limp mode, you most definately couldnt clear it with the pedal ecu reset. i had to unplug the battery for a few hours. and even that had to be done 2x.
Consider yourself lucky, that you could reset the ecu easily and have it run.

something is seriously wrong. i wouldnt just keep clearing codes and continue to drive it.

you might want to check the big rubber grommet on the passenger side behind the battery. When I got my car the grommet had been pulle out and not installed properly so when it rained a ton my car would go into limp mode and would barely stay running.
Car is FIXED!!!! Okay so the idle was fluctuating on the car a lot even when the car wasn't in limp mode... So I decided to do all procedures on this page.... Right after I did it the car is fine again and the idle and throttle input is much smoother....

I'am glad all is OK!
Just so you guys know I just bought a redone Throttle Body for $150 at the nissan dealer. No need to buy a new one at $450 plus.
Just a heads up for you guys that might be needing one soon.
