what is REALLY needed for vortech
im about to install my vortech kit and have searched around for my answer but there are a couple questions i have seen controversy on...keep in mind i basically have all NA mods besides cams or a different final drive
1. do i need one step colder spark plugs? if so which ones and where can I get them? autozone?
2. can i run the stock fuel injectors with my set up using the stock 3.33 pulley? (some have said it would be fine others have said it will not)
3. do i need to upgrade fuel injectors if i go with the 3.12 belt or could i still use stock injectors?
4. can i use the auxillery fuel pump that comes with the kit or do i need to get a walbro with the 3.33 belt and my setup?

1. yes
NGK part # LFR6A-11 for copper
NGK part # NGKLFR6A-11 for iridium
I'd just order them online, but I'm sure someone local has them
2.yes
3. no
4. auxiliary pump is fine
you're in luck, there's a FAQ that covers a lot of this stuff

first of all... dont skimp, i guarantee you that you will be extremely disappointed shelling out 6k+ for the 3.33 setup. the plugs, the walbro, bigger injectors even if not 100% needed are there for a safer more reliable setup. dont screw around with the 3.33, go for the 3.12 at least, 2.87 is highly recommended.
1. get tuner kit.
2. get a decent emu, utec
3. get a walbro 255lhp
4. 1 setup colder plugs that sentry mentioned
5. 550cc or 650cc injectors (440's are a waste of time and money)
6. 2.87 pulley
7. oil pan spacer
8. boost, oil temp and a/f guages
that setup should be good for about 400whp but in your case with your current mods into the 420's.
guarantee you will love it.

what im trying to do is buy everything i NEED at first to be safe and i will continuously upgrade my charger to make it perfect...
im just wondering if at first if i would be fine with the stock injectors and the auxillery fuel pump

the kit is perfectly fine out of the box and even when upgrading to the next size pulley
it's when you start going beyond that, where you should really start worrying about upgrading fuel and cooling parts to make things reliable

copper plugs will last about 10k miles, cost about half the price of iridiums, and offer slightly better spark
people who check their plugs often and would rather replace them often are more likely to go with copper
iridiums will last up to 100k miles assuming they don't get fouled or anything

thanks alot for the responses sentry...i literally sit on here and just read about sh** about the z's but now that im finally about to go FI im a little in the dark on a few things
i just sent you a pm sentry but ill say it on here too anyways...how necessary is it too have gauges to monitor my vortech system...maybe just an a/f? or do i even need that? where does everyone recommend to get gauges at affordable prices that get the job done
answered your pm
A/F, boost, and oil temp IMO are the 3 most important. You don't absolutely have to have them, but if you can get them, I say get them because they might save your butt with monitoring your engine and are useful for troubleshooting boost leaks etc

$5610.00 + $2k for install and tune: $7610.00
if you dont already have a true dual exhaust (like I did), I would seriously consider a turbonetics kit over the vortech. basically same price and you get more torque and more upgrade-ability.
