Gotcha. This is what always makes me nervous about tuning. You never know what has been done to your ECU and if its CORRECT to run good... This is why I wish I had a better understanding of how the car runs and what levels everything needs to be at to run good.... But that all comes with research also

True. My best advice 2 u man is go see Jeremy Tibbs @ Performance factory for your install and tune bc he backs up all his work and he is Great! They will answer your questions unlike some tuners on here. I have spoken to him several times and I live 10 or so hours away. Sonn as I kit my kit installed driving to get him 2 tune it. GL

I've heard GREAT GREAT things about Jeremy at performance factory. I bought my Injen exhaust from him! Cool guy, but SUPER busy!!!! I always try to call and talk to him but he's always tied up...

I've spoken with Doug at Z-fever here in Tampa and that's where I'm gonna go. He seems VERY VERY nice. He always takes the time to PATIENTLY talk to me and explain anything and everything I may need and at a fair price. And he seems SUPER confident in his work. So when my decision is made, I will be going there

Daily driver 04. T.N. kit for a little over a year (about 10K miles) Switched from the reflash to UTEC. If you can be satisfied with the +/- 380 hp, the ECU was rock solid. Maybe half a dozen small problems, I am hoping the new water cooled turbo will out live the 1st non cooled turbo. Down pipe cracked once and also W.G. recirc tube cracked (in all fairness T.N. took care of no questions asked.) I would be less to say prepare for motor rebuild and more apt to say be perpared for a bit of wrenchin here and there. I think if you stay in the area of boost the kit is sold with, you will be happy. I'd never go back.

CORRECTION! The tuner is what makes the car FATAL! Not the EMS!

my thoughts are this...
When you bring boosting your DD up, the best money you can spend is buying a 2nd car. Regardless of how good your tune, install, and kit is, there is going to be unexpected down time. With a TN kit I would worry about the AC line melting and other heat related issues. I would seriously worry about the tune as you talk about running the time bomb reflash. You continue to talk about running a "Safe" setup. your only safe setup is stock with remaining factory warranty. If you don't go to PF, I would contact Japtrix. I haven't heard of Z-fever, but I wouldn't hesitate to bring my car to Gus at Japtrix

not entirely true... in the case of a reflashed ecu on this car, I wouldn't trust it for a second regardless of tuner

if your motor goes, it could be for a million and 1 potential reasons. I think the consensus is that running the reflash isn't something that is recommend

well its good to get the heads up, but I would think since I'd be spending that much money on a kit that the ecu flash would be good and reliable!
