There is more to the bearing story. Bearings to do a good amount of abuse on turbos cars. Thats why you make sure all your clearances are in spec and your engine is assembled correctly. If this is done and proper oil/oil changes are done on the car, then you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

The weak point in these motors IS the rods. This is common knowledge. You want merit, do a search.

There is a range of the OEM clearances. I use on the far side of the range to help increase oil to the bearings.

I believe you, just wanted more input on the bearing issue. The VQ wouldn't be the first Nissan engine to have the rods snap when faced with FI.

Find a post titled "Oh Crap, head lift!" and see what kind of boost he was running

If the factory headbolts are installed properly and torqued per nissan spec you should be fine. They are stronger then people give them credit for.

Are you sure it would be fine with JWT 530bb Turbo with 14Psi of Boost?
Anyway thanx for the info. Now Im running my car engine for at least 500-700 miles after installing Forged Piston, Rods, Main & Rod bearing. Then Can go for Boost n tune.

Nothing is for sure. People have even lifted heads using the L17 headstuds, but most didnt torque them enough. Im pushing 19psi through mine and they are holding good. The L17 from what I have heard are only marginaly better then the stock headbolts. I know Jim from JWT is confident in the stock headbolts even on 800hp applications. IMHO its all in how they are isntalled.

Thx for the lovely info - *phewww*
Your are pushing the the JWT TT to 19Psi?
Which JWT TT are u using 530bb or 700bb, 850bb?
What is the Maximum boost can we go for JWT 530bb?
Does it safe for the Turbo & engine?

Why did you choose cometic for your headgaskets? HKS and now cosworth offer infinitely better gaskets in their stopper style ones. Cometic is basically OEM.

Personally, I wouldn't trust OEM head bolts. IMHO, you can probably run 14 lbs on that setup, but I wouldn't get greedy and try for any more. I am running L19 studs on HKS stopper style gaskets and I would't push them further than 16 psi.

Zivman, how did you arrive at 16 psi as a max? InjectedPerformance w/ L19 studs went much higher with no ill effects reported to date...
