The boost controller is only as good as the stepper motor they use, no matter how good the interface is, the Blitz has both good stepper and interface thats totally intuititive.. The HKS and Blitz both have really good stepper motors but the Blitz wins in the features dept, it has alot of nice features for a little bit more money, which is why i favor them.

I'm speaking from a reliability standpoint. The HKS EVC has a better auto setting which will help to smooth out the boost graph even with a wastegate that's fluctuating slightly. The auto setting on the Blitz is basically worthless from what I've found, and manual isn't the most consistent.
I'm not sure if it's improved on the icolor, but from what I see you're just paying for the flashy display and readouts.
I prefer function before form when it comes to a boost controller.

You must be talking about the older Spec R or Spec S model which i have notice that too, the new i-color seems to be a much better model then the Spec R or Spec S. The Spec S stepper motor is pretty worthless IMO. The new i-color uses a revised version of the Spec R stepper motor.
The readout function is particulary useful for a quick glance at whats going on, i prefer not to have my car cluttered with gauges (as it doesnt have a center gauge stack like your 350Z does), in a case like mine, this becomes a useful all in 1 item.

Go with HKS. The display on the Blitz is better, but I think the HKS is a more solid unit when working. There haven been a couple cases where the solenoid has failed right out of the box.
