Default You guys were right, gotta PAY to play.

I've been humbled. Finished up the final plans with Sharif on what to do with my car. About a month and half ago I blew my motor going down the track with vortech Z. I had recently gotten a new tune, which I believe was the cause of the failure. The tuner, tuned my car at 12:1, which he claimed was safe on a surperchaged Z. Going against my instincts and blindly following the tuners suggestions, I let him tune it to his whim. Sadly, another member who had his procharger tuned by the same person, just recently his blew motor too. Thankfully the tuner is no longer in the modification business.

Lesson learned, make sure you make the extra effort to get a great tune. If you have to drive for 10 hours to go to a reputable shop with lots of experience, DO IT. Also pay the extra money for a good EMS, quality fuel components, reliability and driveability depend on it. In the end, you got to pay to play and I am about to pay up.

Yeah, those initial invoices can hurt....

If you set high goals you'll either pay now or later so at least you're doing it all up front.

Can you grab the last tune info from your ems via labtop? Guys here might be able to tell why it blew or scrutinize the tune for you.

Craig, this schit adds up quick. The HKS injectors alone cost almost as much as the beater car I bought, lulz.

No joke. It's funny that by the time you've got everything added up it's enough to go out and buy a 2nd Z.

yeah i know how you feel. Even on my stock block build I went WAY over what I figured my budget to be. Part of that was my fault though I just kept adding things to the invoice and not always taking in to account how much labor is and such. When Sharif told me the final total I about fell out of my seat lol, but the first time I went in to boost I totally forgot about the cost.

I plan on keeping the car indefinitely. I'm sure the huge smile on face when I drive her around will make it all worth it. It just hurts to stare at the invoice with no car to enjoy for the moment.
