You are supposed to be able to install this by just unbolting the tranny mounts and let the engine sag down. This should shave 2 hours off the install time by not having to drop the transmission.
Then it just depends on where you want to mount the shift indicator. We put Luie's in the gauge cluster, that took about 1.5 hours to fit it in there.
So... it could take as little as 3 hours up to 8 hours depending on what parts you already have installed on the car.

All of that is included in the kit and is detailed in the instructions.

Very cool mod. Just curious though, after this conversion, can you upshift without using clutch? On some of the Ikeya video they showed them upshift without touching the clutch at all. Is that possible for the Z's transmission?

You can do it, but I would not recommend that if you want you syncros to last.
Those Ikeya cars are running dog boxes that are not using the clutch. I am working with PPG gears for a gearset that will swap into our transmissions but the cost is quite high unless we can get a run of 20 or more.

I also looked into the PPG gearboxes and they are pretty expensive. It will cost a little fortune for a good gearbox that can hold all the power you throw at it. Now going to build mine, dogbox. Still a bit affordable.

Seriously... Get some sub belts, tighten them after you tighten your lap belt, THEN tighten your shoulder belts. You are going to slip out the bottom of that harness with how high you wear that lap belt.
