You win by default ....for now

I hope we have the chance to run em again before you let her go, Id love to send it off on a loss, that way it wont be so hard to sell her

Ok, I agree with that.

I wasn't trying to have a go at you, but in retrospect, I guess it may have come off that way. However, I've been around cars long enough to know that fast car doesnt equate to a fast driver. However, there are a lot of good drivers on these forums.

GTR = $77,000 OTD with a warranty

look at the restrictions to keep the GTR's warranty. and try reselling one without it!

the maintenance costs for that car will also be very high (not that maintenance costs on a highly modified Z aren't astronomical either I bet!)

and damn, 77k OTD (taxes, etc?)? good deal right thurr!

I talked to a dealer at Bales Nissan last week when I was picking up some tranny fluid and he told me $90,000 to reserve a new GTR. That seems a bit high.He also said it's up to the dealer markup.

you're allowed to get rid of your Z if you buy Godzilla, but if not, you must keep her.

1, to do minor reflashing and chip work with the stock ecu, it wouldn't be extremely noticiable, and thus would be harder to claim that the mod violates the warranty.

2. The whole warranty issue is a dicey one. if you are smart enough to play the dealer right, he'll be forced to cover the maintenance under warranty

3. Who said maintenance would be astronomical for the GT-R compared to the Z? This isn't a super exotic car that requires engine-out service for any small repair or replacement.

You guys probably have no idea what I spend every year to maintain/fix parts on my car. It probably be cheaper to own a new 911 turbo.

Dont get me wrong my car is bad @ss, and I love it, but its just not reliable for the type of driving I once in a while like to do.

If I get a GTR will i mod it? of course I will, but I did learn a bit with my Z, and I will wait a bit longer before doing so.

This Team O'Neil Rally school is so sick two more days of getting sideways!!!

I was in the FP 350Z on saturday evening and a 911 Turbo came out of corner absolutely hauling *** and it sounded UNREAL. Thats a car I would very happy with. Glad you're having fun at the (free) rally school.
