i know weve briefly discussed this in PM but i really dont see it being that bad unless you are making it a track car.
the yearly check up that adjusts the DCT and makes sure the both sides of the engine are synchronized is free for 3 years.
tires will get about 12-15K miles on them and tire rack has the potenzas for around 380 a piece (not great but it could be worse)
oil change interval is like 5-6K on the car and yeah the sythetic costs a little more so you are probably gonna have a $100 or more oil change
the diff fluid and all that doenst have too short of intervals before it needs changing so thats not too bad. in japan its every 30K km for tranny and diff fluid. thats what 19K miles? so maybe every year to year and a half for a non daily driver.
the OEM brake pads were designed for 7 laps on the Ring before changing. i think if you dont track your GTR every weekend you should get pretty good milage out of these. however it does appear to be true you need to change the rotors with the pads(atleast thats what i was told by the GTR guys) so there is going to be an expense for sure right there.
other than that i really dont think its going to be a great expense. nothing like ferarri or anything like that
but.....here is where we will agree. i wouldnt have that car 1 mile out of warranty. with all the technology in it i think replacing the DCT or having to get the atessa system fixed would be shocking.
but under the normal warranty i dont think its something to be really scared of just as long as you do understand your buying a 75K car not a 30K car. but the internet rumors of 15-20K per year to maintain the GTR is crazy
thoughts?

We must keep in mind that 'expensive' is all relative. A consider a $1.86 medium coffee at DD to be expensive. It's not that i can't buy 1,000 of them at this very moment if I wanted to, it's all relative to the person.
The car is absolutely amazing and Nissan (not dealer) could (maybe should?) be charging over 110k for it, no if's and's or but's. We will see how people react to the prices and it remains to be seen how dealers will treat the car and owner. I firmly believe some dealers still think they are selling Altima Coupes or Z's with bigger engines and something that goes 'whooosshhh' under the hood. In the end, Nissan HAS to rely on the dealer body as the face of the business and everyone is working extremely hard behind the scenes to make this car a success not in just the short term, but the long term.
On a cool sidenote, you may turn white when you see how violent you must be to bed in the pads (after you replace....they are bedded in on the test track outside the plant as seen in the building video online). The ducting is so precise and efficienct, your rotors will NEED to be glowing red to bed them in. You will constantly be fighting the cooldown. These rotors are bigger than my old's Civic's steel wheels!!!

yeah ive read up on the whole lap by lap process. it looks like the car should be broken in in all aspects from the factory even if the manual might say otherwise
cant wait to bed in my 2nd set of pads then.

back on topic everyone buy louie's stuff

If you want to keep the GTR in warranty you are at the mercy of select trained dealers and techs.
While the maintenance may not be as high as some supercars, it most definetly will be higher than the Z/G. I don't think anyone can deny that. Ex: Don't the tires need to be "cut" off the wheels for replacement? I don't think you'll be able to maintain the GTR on your own like you can with the Z.
How much more? Time will only tell. But you have to pay to play...
