Im not a noob at all I just need feedback. I'm running the Turbonetics Single turbo kit with the Threadstone reflash with all the supporting mods. My VQ has 80k miles and I am running low boost now, disregard the 460whp that was at high boost. Around the 380-400whp range. I am planning on building a spare block while I drive the stock block at low boost. I plan on getting Wiseco 95.5mm bore (stock), 96mm(stock) Cometic or Cosworth Head Gasket, ARP Head studs and ACL Main/Rod bearings with stock clearances. Im leaving the head stock. Has anyone done this? I want to see how reliable this set up is. I am shooting for 500+ whp once I upgrade to a GTx35.

Default Has anyone seen this kit

http://www.neotuned.com/nissan-350z-...turbo-kit.html

This is a new account on here I have been following these forums forever though.

What is thought of this turbo kit. What would need replaced to make it a solid kit. It seems to be a mix of turbonetics and godspeed parts.

Thumbs down

It's Godspeed and Turbonetics!?

Two Negatives don't equate to a positive in this formula...

I have a personal friend who has built countless turbonetics setups on nissans and has gotten amazing results, what experience do you have with either? Im guessing none.

I had a turbonetics kit. It was a decent stock block kit. I made 390whp at 10lbs of boost. However, I did have the turbo seals go bad at ~15k miles, the mounting brackets on the up-pipe broke off, and wastegate pipe broke. There is another Z local to me with an upgraded turbo and a few other upgraded parts, his Z, on a built motor, only made ~460whp. So when I built my motor I went with a kit that had more upside. The intercooler and pipping are just too small.

turbos are not a factory option on a 2003 350z, or any 350z for that matter unless you know someone really high up, which you dont.

I won't flame you, but you need to search (either with google or the forum search engine) before you ask stupid *** questions like this...

thank you and have a good night

Im still set on this turbonetics turbo with godspeed intercooler set up. The main components (Turbo, wastegate, BOV) will be a reputable name. Alot of other car forums even run ebay turbos with alot luck we are the only car forum who doesnt even try them however. Either way the ebay turbos are garbage... but piping? come on lol. Honestly the biggest concern with ebay piping is it MIGHT be more prone to cracking or the fittment might not add up. All said, if a catastrophic failure occurs it will atleast be from a reputable part (Turbonetics) or poor tuning. A conservative tune at 7-8 PSI should hold up just fine and dandy for quite some time. When something breaks it can easily be replaced. If the block goes BOOM... they are not that expensive anyhow. You just have to be smarter than paying 5x as much to put a name on a piece of piping.

Over n' out, You will be hearing more from my build in the future.

Default FI question

Hello read the write up about the stock vq35de block. Quick question; I'm shooting for 950 on the stock block cylinder walls and honestly I'm not trying to boost around to block my hard work. I did have sleeves but felt they were not necessary at all since the block was stout. Am I running the risk of putting a hole in my block at suck hp? My intentions are have various of maps; thinking 4 such as 500 700 850 and max 950. My build consist of 96mm bore Je pistons manley turbo h rods IP girlde arp mains l19 head studs; this is for the block of course. The heads are in progress as we speak. Im just looking for input on what i have now at the moment.

Default turbo idea

Hey all! I've sold my roadster and got me a vq swapped s14. I'm thinking of installing a single turbo. What kind of turbo do you all recommend for the vq? My goal is 350 whp with stock internal.

Any advise will be appreciated. Turbo kit is definitely out of the question due to the chasis.

Thank you slide fox I read your whole write up and it gave me a lot of insight on the whole FI subject. I've always drove trucks and got to the point of where I didn't need it anymore. So I went on the search for a Z. For probably 6 months I searched for my car. I ended up getting an 04 with 55,000 on it in may. And have loved every second of it!!! I would like to do mods but I'm willing to wait and not rush it, seeing that I'm 21 and the insurance company likes to wipe me clean every month haha. I just wanted to say thanks. I'll stick to reading more post rather than asking dumb questions that have already been answered haha

Default Build or stock?

Looking for more power want to stay low like the 400rwhp range to start. looking at either vortech or single turbo setup. currently sitting at 95k on my stock DE motor. so im planning on buying something with lower miles or starting a build. my question being for such low numbers is there a necessity for building or would I have reliability just swapping in a stock motor with lower miles. I was looking at just buying a built long block from concept Z but I get the feeling that it would be unnecessary. Just looking for someone to throw some knowledge on me thanks for the help.

Vortech with 2.87 pulley, 600cc injectors, 255 walboro, and uprev tune will put you at 400hp no problem. I ran this setup for a couple years without issue.
