Wrong on both accounts. The stock clutch packs will not hold 450ft/lbs for very long. Vortech guys have experienced slippage at less than 400ft/lbs after prolonged use... let alone a JWT 530bb kit that will make just as much torque as whp when you push it to higher boost levels. Pushing a stock 5AT to 500+whp is foolish. You have some research to do.

Thats why I am on here asking. Every site I go to has a different info and even different info on the same sites.

So basically to push my 350 to 500whp I have to do a full build on just about everything is what I am taking away from this?

To keep anything stock (block, tranny, fuel system, etc) I have to stay under 400whp/wtq.

Stop asking questions and do your own reading like everyone else. If theres something that isn't answered, then ask. So far all the questions you asked have been answered millions of times on these forums.

I already mentioned this but I had been doing ny own reading and depending on what site or what part of a site I read info from I find different answers. I was expecting to have to replace the rods since they are the first to go but since everything has so many different answers, and some even say the rods are good to 500, I wanted to ask people that may know. I found about 30 different places I have been reading info so its not that I have best been reading I just got tired of finding so many conflicting numbers. If you don't want to answer or don't know that's cool but don't pretend you know how much research I have been doing because you don't.

Yeah at trannies lose about 5% more than manual. I was not looking for some exact to number just trying to get in the ballpark. but it seems the platform won't make it there without about 10k more.

Default Hey all

Well im new to the 350z world currently in the process of getting a 04 Z with only 22k miles on it nav heated seats so it's decent. It's a coupe and im wondering what the cost of it to twin or single turbo it. Also I would be throwing a greddy exhaust on it for sound. My budget is around 7-10k max right now after getting the car. I've seen post where you could twin turbo it and just change the intercooler ,injectors, but I want the full rundown as I will be buying the parts ,but my knowledge isn't good enough for the labor part. I've seen twin kits go from 5-9k for what i've been look at and it comes with everythign needed even bigger injetors and intercooler and so on. If anyone can just let me know im only looking to hit the 400-500hp mark and im hoping 10k is a great start to that.

Also this car would only be driven around 10 miles a day top. Im just looking to turn heads at my next car show and keep this for a summertime car and then put away. The most I could go on the build after car price if really need would be 12k I could hit that if needed, but im hoping to only going around 7-10k

gonna burst your bubble solo.... for the hp you want you are going to spend more than that... you will need to build out the block to handle that much power

Ok well thank you for being honest with me. What kind of power can I be looking at with a top budget of 12k in all? Like I said if I have to stay with a single turbo I will ,but is it possible for me to run a twin turbo with a budget of mine? I've seen kits for 7-9k for twin kits with everything included. So if your willing to help me i'd greatly be in debt to you

i hope drifter doesnt mind
https://my350z.com/forum/turbos-nitr...anagement.html

and some of dis

http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3546

and some of

http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...?cPath=390_397

then gaskets labor and tuning...so if you bargain hunt some engine managment and do most of the install your self...its just paying to get the internals put in and tuning...so 3k for that (rough estimate, talk to places and findout for yourself)
just get everything checked out, have a reputable shop do the work. and good luck!

if your talking about 400 to 500 crank hp then that is very possible, that would be about 350-425whp, which a bolt on turbo kit and exhaust is capable of. With the rest of the money i would suggest get a tune and if you don't have brembos invest in a nice bbk.

for a twin your gonna be running 8-10k plus install, unless your doing it yourself, and dyno tune... but why go turbo and everything else stock? if your going over 430hp, your gonna have to upgrade internals. start slow, easy mods first. intake, exhaust suspension, rims, brakes, and then turbo.... your gonna be spending way more than 10k.. id say around 15k

You could look into an IPP long block and sell the motor that's already in there

Just my $.02

Supercharger would be under $10k and would get him close to 400 whp and pray the block holds

To do it correctly, and have the internals upgraded and the kit installed. 15K minimum.

Thats the correct way with no corners cut. But If you have that kind of cash to just blow I'd just buy one someones selling that was done at a reputable shop for 20K.

You would more than likely get everything your wanting plus suspension and wheels already. Just my .02.

i've been looking at ones already done and there's alrerady one with a twin turbo only 24k miles on it and dyno sheet showing 500rwhp already. There asking 26k for it and im thinking about doing it,but i've always wanted to do a build from ground up. I guess you guys are right though maybe I should start small and go with a single turbo and do that right and get the most out of that turbo and while doing that use the extra money to change the internals for later down the road. If I can get the car to push 400hp to the wheels off one turbo and do it safely and not ruin the motor with a 12k budget I want to do it.

Judging from your post and replies im assuming this is your first car you plan to boost? Bc a big single turbo usually puts down more power than twins. Maybe not on the VQ but most other platforms you would want a big single over twins.

Also im definitely assuming you wont be doing it yourself which means youll be paying atleast 5K plus in labor alone.
