Default Looking to get more TQ.

I've almost got the money saved for the bottom end build. I was going to just stick w/ the stock heads and cams and go w/ like a FP S1 block, Fcon & Stg1 FR. Nothing major, not looking for 600+hp. I'd be happy w/ 500. Mostly I would like to jump up the tq even at a loss of some hp's if needed. I'd really like to be over the 5's in tq if it wasn't a major ordeal. Anything anyone could point out to me to check out?

since your building a motor anyway have you thought about building a stroker motor? having some more displacement will help you get some tq i little easier

Not really. Didn't really want to go that route. I see 4cyl w/ turbo upgrades pushing more tq than some guys w/ built VQ's. I just figured maybe these guys were shooting for the hp's and not so much the tq.

hmm.. i'm pondering upon the same ordeal. I've got the GTM turb cams, so hopefully, with some aggressive timing, I can gain more torque.

Torque wins races; horsepower sells cars. (Someone famous stated this).

Carrol Shelby? ^^

Any Greddy kit @ 15psi will provide 500+ft/lbs

I make 500ft/lbs on a DD @ 3700rpm's and hold till past 6000rpm's

add a nitrous kit set for a 100 shot...just spray right at idle (1000 rpms).....it'll give you an extra 525 ft-lb of torque at 1000 rpm!!!! That'll roast the bolognas!!!!

yeah most of the TT kits provide substantial tq. I have a feeling you're talking about "instant torque" though. if thats the case you either need to stroke it or just throw an LS7 in there

You will be fine. Just through a set of cams on top of that build
