Default For you Longblock assemblers

So i'm almost done with my longblock assembly and i should be able to put it back in the car next week.

But while i was working on the motor today, i was wondering, for all you that have reassembled motors yourself, did you run into any problems with leaks and such things like that. Any problems that made you take out the block again and add something.

For you pussies that pay for installtion, dont speak. LOL jk

See the thing is i have 2 little O rings left but i dont know if they belong to the oil pump or maybe somewhere around the rear mail seal cuz i didnt install eithe rof those. I think the overhaul kit came with 6 little black O rings. i swapped out 4 but 2 left. Other than that, i got everythin else under control.

Did you get all of them behind the rear timing cover? I don't remember off hand, but you should use all 6:

1 per head, two that rest in the block, and 1 per side of the front side of the rear timing cover.

So just two little ones left, then?

Nevermind, there are 2 per head, and 2 on the front of the rear timing cover.

Don't forget the inner upper oil pan bolts
The 2 cam gear covers have a little o ring that fits on the inside of each cover.
Did you change/ replace those ones? You have to stretch & slide them on the shaft carefully.

Yeah, inner upper oil pan bolts. Mine were forgotten & the gasket seal blew out. I searched for weeks for this stupid leak. The oil was so clean it was nearly impossible to find where it was leaking from. With the lower oil pan off, you can look through & see where they go.
