Proper way to Clean an Intercooler
Hello,
I have search the forums, and didnt find any info on this.
since there is always some oil resedue on our piping, i am sure that someof it gets stuck in the intercooler, causing less efficient flow.
whats the perfect way of cleaning an intercooler, I would like to do this soon.
I have heard of people letting the FMIC soak in soap and warm water, but I'd rather see what you guys think!
Thanks...

Here's how I clean mine...
Remove from car (obviously).
Clean up the outside (whatever's easiest for you).
Get a plastic bag and a rubber band. Place bag over one opening and secure with rubber band.
Get some gas.
Pour some in the intercooler.
Tie up other end of intercooler same as the first.
Swish the gas around inside the core for a good 5-10 minutes.
Undo one side and drain gas (it will come out almost black).
Repeat until gas comes out same color it went in.
Remove bags/bands, drain gas completely, and dispose of.
Clean outside of intercooler again.
Let dry completely.
Reinstall.
Perform boost leak test.
Drive.
