aeromotive FPR fuel leak.
The leak is coming from where the red top piece meets the silver bottom piece.
I've removed the top half, checked the diaphragm and found it to look clean with no rips, reinstalled the top half, still no luck, fuel just slightly runs down the side of the FPR, with a drop light on it you can see it slowly coming out. =(
Any ideas on getting it to stop leaking?

anyone know the torque specs? I assume that it's torqued from the factory, and in my case it's leaked since day 1.
I'll call them or see if Dave can call them since he might have more leverage.
What's weird is the surface seems fine, it looks machined with no signs of damage, the rubber diaphragm also seems fine.
weird that it's leaking, it is a pretty slow leak but enough to drop fuel pressure from 45 or so down to 25 in a few minutes.

Called Aeromotive today since FT is close, talked to one of the techs there, he told me that it's leaking out of the front hole where the gauge goes, I told him that I wrapped it around 3 times with tape and tightened it up rather tight and would be surprised if it were still leaking, also that it looked like the fuel was coming from where the top part and bottom part meet, he told me that he gets calls for this same problem time and time again and also has people send them in with the same problem, almost always, its from the gauge hole in the front.
I took it apart again, checked over the surface again, every thing looked perfect, cleaned out all of the fuel, then covered the little gauge hole plug with Hondabond, loaded it up around the outside of the hole and then put the top of the FPR back on then made sure everything was put back together with out pinching the rubber gasket, I also torqued down on the little plug rather tight, sounds like it takes a good bit of force to get it seated right.
I'm letting the hondabond dry for 48 hours so the fuel wont wash it away, we'll find out on Wednesday if it holds.

i love hondabond more than probably anyone, but have never gotten it to work well to seal a NPT thread. You are giving it a longer dry time than i think i ever did though .... if it doesn't work use a pipe thread PASTE, not tape, that should work much better than the tape.

We'll see.
I believe Hondabond is silicone based, only down side is the stuff is 18.95 a tube.

i usually use loctite/thread locker on all threaded connections. And then try and give them 6-12hrs to dry. Ive used thread tape before and that stuff just isnt reliable enough... Never had an issue using the above method.

It's OBVIOUS that this FPR is telling you that you need more boost or else it'll just spit out the fuel you'd use on 12 PSI anyways. I bet this sucker would be around 500 whpr at 12, maybe even 11 psi with a good exhaust
