Wowza! I found this website today as I trawled the web searching for decent Z sites - having been an S14 owner and modifier in the UK for 7 years (www.sxoc.com) I like my forums to have great info and crazy projects going on!
This project is astounding and I'm full of envy and admiration for the work you've done and plan to do - this thread inspired me to register!

Did a little bit of work this weekend, after alot of measuring and cutting we modified the crossmember and got the motor all mounted up, so on with the pics...
Modified cross member, we used some thick a$$ metal for this bad boy, 3/16" IIRC. Got her all tigged up:
Before we closed the front side of the new mount plates I test fitted it in the car, got the motor all centered and drilled the holes for the mounts:
Put her back in for test fitting:
Like a glove! How she looks without the hoist sitting on genuine Nismo mounts:
Put on the headers to make sure were all good:
Its so beautiful I could cry....
So before we close up the front side of the new mount plates, the cross member will be sand blasted and re coated to insure the bare metal in that dead space wont rust.
That is all for now...

The VQ30DET kit is for sale if anyone wants to try it on their Z or G, It fit my VQ35 no problem, I just couldnt use it because of where my steering column is the turbo would hit, so PM me if your interested in trying it on your Z or G.

Well the turbo off the VQ30DET is not really recommended for the power I am trying to make, its only good for maybe 10 psi. I am going big so I am stepping it up to a GT35R, which I am getting ready to order because the next thing we have to fabricate is the turbo setup and you cant make a turbo setup without a turbo lol.

looks good so far, but my only question is what are you doing for a hood? the pics of the engine on the modded x-member look like its all ready higher than the firewall. Is it just the pic?

I think its just the pic, another guy on here did a swap using the VQswap.com kit and by judging by his pictures my motor either sits lower or right about the same height and his hood and it shuts. I believe my mount design is by far better than VQswap.com because it uses stock Nissan mounts and I am going to start making mount kits of my own to sell, aiming to be better quality and lower price than them. We will be offering different options for the kit whether it be for N/A or Turbo yet you wont have to go to the interior extremes I did. We hope to have a complete drop in kit designed so the average guy can drop this motor in and go.
