Yea, completed build threads are awesome, no need to wait at all.

It's the same way with TV shows...I got into Lost at the middle of S04, so it was great being able to watch the first 3 and a half seasons straight through, but then I had to wait...not fun.

In any case, definitely interested in the final product here.

Is the motor the DE model or the newer rev-up models with more power?

I believe the G35x's (being only available in automatic) are DE's.

As of right now its the non rev up model, but that all could change. Most likely it will stay that way, but if a good enough deal comes along on the heads ill consider changing it.

Just amazing, good luck with everything. You can't beat a great DIY thread with the MacGyver theme song blasting in the back ground lol. Def. subscribing.

ok here goes for those of you screaming more....

My friend came by the shop today and we got busy on the car...

It started out as this engine bay with the hacked giant holes from the previous owner which needed to be filled in:

Got to cutting on the drivers side:

To cover the hole, a trailer fender I bought off ebay. The original backing went on the opposite side of the trailer fender. My friend Mike and I ground it off and re-welded it to the other side for a cleaner, more round look. It also served as my practice piece in my welding training, lol:

Using some card board for a rough mock up:

Cut the trailer fender in half, fit it to cover the hole and cut away the extra metal that was un needed:

Size: 72.8 KB

Welded the fender in place:

Cut out the rest of the rough hole that was cut and welded some metal in its place:

Size: 51.1 KB

Did the same to the other side:

And we ran out of metal, so here is how she currently sits till next time when we have more sheet metal:

And an idea of what she will look like with the new S15 core support installed:

For now, I have some reading material my friend brought me back fresh from japan (well I cant read it but the pictures sure are freakin sweet!)
