I went to the drag strip and did a burnout to warm up the tires. My wideband started going wacko (E 8 code?) and not it read 7.4 at all times. Did my ecu put my car on safe mode?

if your car still goes over 2500 RPMS .. then i would say your wideband needs to be recalibrated..

what EMS do you have? if you have an F-Con you won't go into safe mode

well did it let you go over 2500 rpms? or you didn't try?

if you can't go over 2500 rpms.. have you checked your piping? usually if the charge pipe between the MAF and the TB or after the maf comes off.. it will put you in limp mode.. check all your piping and couplings first

it drives and sounds perfectly fine. It's not on limp mode. I can go full boost/rpm. I'm gonna go try to reset the wideband..

recalibrate time ..

if your car was really at 7.4 it would be running super super rich and you would be puffing black smoke.. the car wouldn't even run.. it would start.. then it would be flooded with fuel and shut off

hmm.. I think recal. sounds about right. thanks for the input, yall. Yes, it's innovative. resetting didn't do anything.

Get up to a good speed and let go of the gas. Once your gauge reads o2 20.X% hit the button 3 times quickly. It should start flashing "CAL". Hit it one more time as it's flashing "CAL" to calibrate. You have to be off the gas the whole time it's calibrating or else it'll screw up the calibration. It only takes a few seconds.

I went for a drive and recalibrated the wideband. I had to do it a few times and it's back to normal!!

excellent post. not too many people know about this. Not sure if it's required, but you may have to hit the gas before hitting the button after the 'cal' blinking light. At least I did.

your WB sensor is F'd common with innovate

The latest firmware fixes the common "E8" error, so as long as the ground are properly connected you will be ok.

Make sure to run the latest firmware, and always calibrate the sensor in free air to ensure accuracy.

Innovate is still the most accurate wide band on the market.
