Got a problem!!! My freshly built Z is overheating and spewing antifreeze
OK so I want to get some things straight on my car..I started having the overheat issues as well...nismo thermostat and went through all the "purging" bs...so i bought the radiator funnel and continued to purge it after it puked coolant out of the overflow bottle..
I REMOVED my thermostat and the car runs about 190-205 degrees depending if its open road or traffic in 100 degree heat.
So I cannot tell you what causes this overflow issue...I havn't lost ANY coolant but about every 2-3 weeks I will notice my overflow bottle is getting full and I will use the radiator funnel and pour it back into the radiator..
I have to say that I think its IMPOSSIBLE to run FI on a stock radiator...my wife's chiuhuahua's wiener is thicker than the stock rad..so i got a koyo 53MM..I DO NOT have ANY more overheat issues after the koyo install and the thermostat removal..
SO if a few folks here are CONVINCED that this overheat issue is automatically blown headgaskets..then why the hell am I not LOSING coolant? or I should say WASN"T losing coolant?
I am NOT convinced that this issue is automatically the HG's, but I will also say I dont know EXACTLY what the cause is either..
The engine builders here should know....i would like to see the OP's car torn down and pics of the HG's posted here...when and if that will happen is beyond my control...

True, and I am hoping that it turns out to be the cooling system.
I have full confidence in Sharif and know that he runs a very ethical shop. I praying for an excellent compression and leakdown test.
ummmm, you do know overheating the engine is a common cause for head gasket failure right?
Sorry bro, wish you only needed a radiator upgrade, but I highly doubt it.

Compression and leadown were satisfactory. Pressure testing of the cooling system revealed the issue. A loose/bad gasket at the cylinder head coolant return pipe. This caused a leak, and then overheat.
Craig is the luckiest dog out there...no rebuild needed.

The day I get my Z back, I am buying a ticket for the mega millions!
Unbelievable. One in a million right there. Congrats Craig

Oh and it goes without saying, but its worth saying anyway:
Forged is inevitably one of the most ethical business that I have ever dealt with, it would have been awfully easy to say, your engine is toast and just rebuilt the engine without running the necessary tests.
Can't wait to see the final numbers

Did you pick the mess up! You aren't kidding about lightening up the car, lol

Right now my dually is in the shop getting a new motor etc etc etc Bill is about $9600.00
two days later my skid steer I use in my construction business craps the bed..two new hydraulic drive motors needed..cost $8450.00 for parts plus labor...
Great news though..glad to hear it..

I would rather spend $350 on a leakdown test from Forged than a rebuild any day of the week!
I wish you the same luck on your car. On a side note, when it rains it pours, doesn't it?
I will post pics and maybe a video or two, when the car is completed. Maybe Sharif could get a video on the dyno

No HG failure at all, no headlift. Just a coolant leak and several miles of extra vacuum line.
I am just upgrading to FCON and a few other goodies
