I'm not sure if it is coolant or Oil dripping down the car after it blew but the car sounded funny even before they did the pull.

lol
that engine took so much abuse considering it was part of R&D, and many times they tried to blew it, surprised it held this long...if it really went...then.. RIP!

Sorry to hear - best wishes for a speedy recovery. Gut wrenching to see it on video.

Any details on what they were attempting to do or what went wrong? What were the build specs for that car?

Jorge, just saw your post - they were just testing the limits? How far did they go?

remember the engine has a lot of stock parts as part of R&D, basically just pistons, rods and basic APR hardware, on a block that wasnt premachined...considering all that it was well put together for the circunstances and testing they did...
I believe they had the 76S on that run and were trying to boost 25+psi

AthenG and the other guy Victor have nothing in common.. Victor is affiliated with VTR.. AthenG had his work done at MRC.. that and AthenG is more of a DYI'er.. not really affiliated with with a shop.. if anything he wants nothing to do with VTR and thats why he drove extra to NJ to get his work done when VTR is in his backyard

It's all speculation at this point on what blew until someone from Intense posts here. However, IMO it looked like coolant dripping from under the engine. I wonder if a freeze plug blew out again.

I can offer what I do know from my discussion with Han last week. They removed the GT37R and put the 76S turbo back in for this dyno contest. As Jorge stated the motor build consists of only pistons and rods, with stock heads that contain BC (or JWT) valve springs and BC cams. The motor has stock sleeves and that was the concern going into this dyno contest trying to best the 906whp number.

Han told me they were probably going to go for 1000whp at this event and hope the stock sleeves held.

I'm not affiliated with any shop so why would I instigate anything? I'm just curious who own this car and not even aware that it was owned by Intense. Most of the stuff in my car are done by Julian and would rather go there than go to VTR. So I guess I'm also a VTR basher since I choose to go to NJ than go to their shop. Also did I say that the ProEFI was the cause of the failure?

We are all in the same world so you have to take the good with the bad so we can all learn. We can't just keep hiding the bad, as a matter of fact those failure or success should be made public so we can all learn from it. I'm not bashing any company because I have nothing to gain from it.

very stuble...
anyways... this happened this weekend... its monday and its here already, no secrets, if anything this is reasuring for most engine builds in the 500-800whp range that their sleeves are ok... lets wait and see what failed so we can learn properly another limit of oe vq parts.
Ill let all know what are the findings as soon as i know
no point speculation what happened right now.

Doug, no worries here, i am a fan of athensG detail to attention DYI jobs and i expect him to appreciate that and think outside the box....right
?

plus we all know the rsx would have been able to take 30psi on a 76S turbo no problem... maybe a swap is in order

Now that I know that it is Intense car then I'm not surprised it blew.. as matter of fact I'm surprise it lasted that long because I knew Intense was really pushing their car to the limits with minimal aftermarket parts.
