The pump does pull that direction...but there isn't "suction" there unless there is a big air pocket to displace. Once the system is up to operating temperature, the ENTIRE system is under pressure (no suction). So any loose connections can pop off from any point. If memory serves, the thermostat is in front of the water pump, so the lower hose is probably the MOST likely one to pop off. The thermostat is a restriction in the coolant flow and it causes the coolant to back up at that point increasing pressure under rapid engine acceleration. I know the Supra guys always double clamp their lower hose for the same problem. So it looks like this is probably a good idea for us VQ guys as well.

Sounds like 1ZweetZ actually knows what he's talking about. I love how everyone throws around what they think it is {not just in this thread} and yet when someone says what it actually was, then nay sayers arise.

Not hatin' on the other users just pointing out that maybe everyone should slow their roll and educate themselves first hand as to what is happening on these vehicles at high boost and pressures instead of "desktop teching"
{Sorry had to vent a little}

Enjoy the vid and more to come from this G35, thanks for the support!

Yeah once I started thinking about it, it make sense. Its there only like 15lbs of pressure?

Glad to hear it is likely nothing! And congrats on the win. 700+ whp isn't anything to sneeze at, even if it's low for that car.

for some reason the video reminded me of the "blown engine" in the charger on that valvoline syn commercial. Coolant hitting the ground must mean a blown engine.. right?

i think 700whp will be more common soon...
btw did you notice the cheap home depod fan they used on that dyno lol
ud think if they made the effort to bring a "mobile" dyno to the event they would at least bring 2 decent high velocity fan.

As I stated to Darren yesterday, I would be scared to make anywhere near 1,000whp on a truck mounted dyno. How much can those things handle?

I can agree with that. Its funny when people try to sound bad-*** giving answers to a problem 1000 miles away.

OK so we kinda forgot about this thread. IT WAS ONLY THE LOWER RADIATOR HOSE, NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS. SPECULATION DUN-DONE-DUN

THE CAR EVEN HAD A 2STEP BATTLE WITH AN EVO DIRECTLY AFTER THE DYNO AND WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF THE CALIFORNIA Z OWNERS CLUB FOR ALL TO SEE IT RUNNING. THE VEHICLE ALSO DROVE OUT OF THE SHOW UNDER IT OWN POWER AND HAS BEEN DRIVING ALL OVER AZ RECENTLY TOO.
