The first picture you can see the only part that needs tinkering with (with the exception of the BIG sticker warning). The center portion of the shaft that the cage and bearings go arround. The second picture is the CV.
So when you had a spacer made it went on the shaft side between the back of the hum and the face of the CV?
I've had no issues with tire wear, clicking, or any other problems from these (knock on wood).

On the LV 5's I got it had come with the new CV's from DSS. The only thing that had to be done is pull the cage and bearings off the only shaft. The CV's were beefy as hell. You could easily kill a mule with it.

I have level 5s also. less than 200 miles all the cap bolts that hold the shaft to the cv walked out!
The tq specs. read 38 ft.lb... thats what I did 38 no thread lock either.
I got all new cap bolts from a fastener shop, and some red rubber thread lock material called Vibra-Tight, tq them to 70ftlbs all is well.
The shop has sense changed the tq. spec!!!
Tore up the inside of the hub from the cap heads extending out, sucked!

Had them TQ's with an air gun and used threadlock dont have any issues.
I have not experience issues like the OP and some of you though, BUT I will check next time the car is in the air. Thanks for the info!!!!!!!!

I have the DDS Level 2 axles. I have had no problems yet, and I pushed it relatively hard at times at Sebring with 12 psi of boost. Has anybody had any problems with the Level 2s?
Also, has anyone pushed them much past 500 hp with drag slicks and a 4k rpm launch? I'm setup for the road course, but I wouldn't mind seeing what my car will do in the 1/4 mile once my current round of mods are finished, which should be December assuming I get the Cosworth in by then.

Yeah that time we did it was the 3rd set of bearings.
The bearing failure problem is an engineering problem from the Driveshaft Shop. The face that butts up to the backside of the bearing is considerable smaller then the stock one and puts way more torsional loads on the bearings. DSS told me over the phone that they were going to machine the faces down on my axles and put a flange on that was bigger to spread the load out more over the back face of the bearing. But they didnt do any of that and I am still having the same problems. I paid about $100 both ways to have them overnighted to them and the only thing it looks like they did was put a coat of paint on them and ship them back to me.

Bumping an old thread,
So whats the current deal with these Level 5 axles. I just broke my stockers at the drag strip and need to upgrade anyhow to support the new power coming.
Intense mentioned "pro" revisions with installed inner CVs. Any new info on that?
Any info more experience in general?
Thanks!
