Guess that's why so many people go S/C and slap a huge STILLEN sticker across th front window. CHiPs know not to bother cuz Stillen is CARB approved. That's what I did...

I thought cops had to have reasonable cause to pull you over and not just pick you out of a line of traffic and ask you to pop your hood

The Governator needs to give us a hand... I'm sure he's driven modded cars in his time. Someone write to him and see what he has to say.

If I recall correctly, he used to own a real Hummer and he yanked the crappy GM turbo Diesel and replaced with a builtup SBC or BBC (can't remember which one.) It was pretty cool looking; it had the slant back roof on it ,too.

Unfortunately these laws have nothing to do with the environment or public well being. It's all about money. This is one reason why I'm glad I'm not living in Cali anymore.

Yeah, the govt intervenes because of the amount of cars here. But the downside is....you're not in Cali anymore. It is a pretty great place to hang your hat.

There's so few modded cars and there's so many more gross polluting factories etc, but a few modifications that don't do much harm are the target of the law. that's one piece of s@#$

Find a friend in AZ or NV and have them let you change the address of your car to that state. You'll have to cross the border once a year for tests but it'll be well worth it for the AZ plates that will keep you legal.

California? you can keep that homosexual, liberal **** state!

You need to vote the assclowns in office out.... period..

This is why we CANNOT allow obama in office..give a liberal an inch..and he will take a mile...hell if algore would've gotten the presidency, we would be riding around in covered wagons...oh wait..horseshit puts off emissions as well I forgot..

there's just something seriously wrong with liberals..musta been all the hallucinagenics thier lsd and weed smoking, bra burning moms took in the 60's...
Says the guy living in the most liberal city in the US....

Well there are two issues here that you need to get a lawyer about. Ref tickets are impossible at this time as the Referee stations are closed down, they can't repeat ticket you for that.

Also they cannot crush your car if it is not smog compliant, they are only able to do that under state law if you are taking part in a street race.

I'd get that cops badge number and post it up here and contact SAN (SEMA Action Network) to make sure someone follows up with that officer about what his job is and what laws he can enforce, that he cannot go making up laws when he feels like it.

If you're not a SEMA member I advise you to pony up and become one. Any shop in Cali that wants to survive had better stop worrying about their competition and start worrying about their state government. The only way these laws will get repealed and citizens treated like human beings again is if a formidable group of people stands up for their rights. Join that group and do something about it.

http://www.semasan.com

All these people from other states bragging about how awesome their state is need to join, give the government 10 more years and see how easy you have it. California is always the lead state when it comes to Vehicles and Emissions, all states end up adopting standards that California sets. Not too long ago Manufacturers made cars specifically for California because of their emissions, now all 50 states get those cars, you're not as special as you think you are.

Florida is all happy friendly? They've already started to separate the classic/hotrod cars from the rest of the vehicles. Thats the beginning of the downfall.

(PDF Link)
http://www.semasan.com/images/pdf/florida.pdf

Don't wait till it's too late to do something about it.
