Default The cops got me,really good!!!!!

Well, all good things come to an end.My days of enjoying my twin turboed 350 are also coming to an end.The Highway patrol and SDPD have set up stings here in San Diego. They pulled me over for absolutley nothing last friday when I was sitting in traffic in the city. They made me pop the hood and wrote the "ref" ticket. No big deal, I have gotten one before and was able to find a way out. I figured it would be easy to deal with and nothing major.Boy was I wrong!!!!!!!!!

Low and behold, I get pulled over by the same Highway Patrol (20 miles from the previous place) today and he wrote a no compliance "ref" ticket and told me next time they catch me, they impound my car and send it to be crushed Again, I wasnt doing anything just sitting in traffic on the freeway. He just kept saying your car is so modified that it is the reason for global warming, smog problems, etc..........I told him my car is tuned so well I will pass the emissions test on the rolling dyno and then I ask him then why dont you pull over that Ford F-350 that drove by with huge 5" exhaust that is billowing out as much black smoke as a locomotive? Well thats smog exempt is what he replied.

Another thing, these fricken cops have gotten very savvy. When they popped the hood they were blown away at first because of all the stuff I have done but then went onto to describe every mod I had in detail!!!!!They were like you have a custom intake manifold, twin turbos,I can see your blow-off valves welded to you intercooler, I know oyu have a 3" exhaust but I am not going to get down there and see if you have cats because your probably dont,etc..........Holy Crap, these guys surprised me big time.

Also....if you live in SD and go down to the street legals at Quallcomm.....dont go anymore. They are setting up stings there too. They tell you to come down so you dont have to street race and then bust you as you leave and write you tickets or tow your car.

Our goverment is so retarded. We can let 40 billion diesel spewing smoke mongrels on the road that are actually causing global warming and smog problems but they want to get the finely tuned rice rockets that can actually pass emissions off the road. How back asswards is that? Another thing they have done out here in California is screwed up the budget so bad the referee is closed down but yet the cops are still writing "ref" tickets when there is no ref that can bring you into compliance!!!!!!

So I guess I will be doing something with the Z and probably get a G37
What is really ironic is that we just finished the stealth twin turbo G at our shop today. You pop the hood and its got the stock airbox and you cant tell its twin turboed. This guy will be enjoying his damn car next week and I will be worried about mine getting crushed if I drive it.

I'm totally with you on everything you said. Its all totally out of control.

The last time I got pulled over and cop asked me, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I answered, "because thats why you get paid?"

Cops and IRS agents....*grumble grumble*

That sucks...I thought the Cops would have to catch you racing/found stolen parts on your car to impound or destroy your car. Harassment FTL!

We don't even have emissions tests in Ohio or any kind of check for that matter. Then again we can't drive our cars year around either.

The good and bad about California....

Start lobbying I guess. Hell, it seems like there's enough car enthusiasts out there that you could get something rolling.

This does really suck though. I'm lucky enough to not even have to go through emissions testing (in one of the most liberal cities in the nation), so I can pretty much do whatever I want. But I totally feel for you CA people. I still don't understand how they can Constitutionally crush your car.

Nothing to do with the constitution. Has to do with pollution. Back east the guidos wear gold chains over black turtle necks....and we don't try and intervene in your politics..
